Gentlemen, you provide an incredible service. You are educating the world on so many vital topics. My view: Much like a value stock that takes years to blossom (i.e. produce superior gains), your channel will ultimately overcome other channels that may be more flashy and emotionally compelling (like growth stocks!). Please trust this process (as I know you confidently do). My lone criticism is to do watch the videos of those you criticize a bit more, so that it is more fair and representative of their work... but yours is now the only channel that I recommend to students, clients, colleagues, etc. Thank you!

Here for the like and algorithm! Investors have gone mad pursuing the "potential" of earnings in the future and so many are focusing on revenue (Fubo TV, etc) over anything else.

Great videos on how to validate companies, however I can't seem o find any video where Paul talks about valuation. Do you guys calculate the intrinsic value of, a company, for example using DFCF o DDCF? Or you just rely on ratios such as P/E and EV/EBITDA?

Uncle Paul always throwing those bombs at us I wish he would go over methods of how to give a business that's declining a fair value for those of us interested in a potential reversal for a business that's been performing poorly over the years such as blackberry so we can apply the "How much do I pay" principle for a business performance declining
@omerodabasi3 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul. Correct me if I'm wrong, but arent you neglecting the fact that the declining company in your example is worth something only if it's returning something to its shareholders? That would be if they were returning all of that by means of dividends and/or share buybacks. Not to mention the declining company will be worth a fraction of its current PE after four years (provided its still in free fall), whereas the growing one -- assuming it will keep its pace of growth -- will likely have a similar PE so you can actually sell it at the end of the investment period. P.S: Love the content anyway! Keep it up! Cheers!

How do we evaluate née IPO's. I know we like to see long standing companies with consistent growth and profits but is there anything different I should be doing when researching new IPOs?

@DarrenRoberts1233 жыл бұрын
How is the declining company still worth buying? Are they paying dividends? Becasue if not I fail to see how it's still worth buying, even if I got it at a good valuation, I'm assuming the stock price will go down with the profit growth, leaving me with a lower share price as less people willing to buy. Unless I'm missing something?

A little confused. You said that earnings going up means stock price goes up. But you very often also say "look at this company, it's earnings have gone up since 2005 but it's stock price has halved" for example. And I can't see another way in which reasons going up means profit for the investor

If I buy a share for $10 with an EPS of 5. Does this mean my $10 = $50 for that year? But I don’t see the extra $40 I just may or may not be reflected in the share price. Is that in anyway right?

Wouldn't it be a good idea to average, on a 10 year statement the first 5 years then average the second 5 years to see how much the company has grown or lost ?

If a company is losing profit who will buy your stock at a higher price you initially bought it? Or do you mean a company with dividends? If a company goes from 10 to 1 in 10 years. If you bought in year 1 for 2 dollars, do you really expect to sell it for 3 dollars in 10 years?

Stocks extended their year-to-date rally following the CPI report, with the S&P 500 last up 0.8% in afternoon trading. but I don't know if stocks will quickly rebound, continue to pull back or move sideways for a few weeks, or if conditions will rapidly deteriorate.I am under pressure to grow my reserve of $250k.
