Great vid Ewan! By the way Mohamed is one of the best in Egypt for sure but the best Egyptian player is definitely Youssef Hossam!

It's great that you experience first hand the level in other countries. You said you were surprised about the level of "intermediate players" Well I'm not surprised. I just think the level in the UK is quite low. The best UK players are obviously competitive and as good as most other countries. But below that, there is a bigger base of great players in other countries. In my opinion, you have that level. Same level as I do. p400/500. You are now training with p1000 players in your videos and that's great. You will learn a lot from it. I do believe that on the long term you will reach that p1000 level. Go get it, vamosss
@chucky8894Ай бұрын
I'm guessing you're from Belgium, other countries don't use the Pxxx system.
@bavelcoАй бұрын
@@chucky8894 Some countries have the same or a similar system. Let's just say that p400/500 is already a very good level. Everyone can play decent padel at that level. But my weaknesses will directly be visible once I play p1000 players. You get the idea that you can play with these guys, but reality hits hard. They have more experience, more training, fitter, etc. The list goes on.
@chucky8894Ай бұрын
@@bavelco Do you know which countries have the same system, I am curious? I get your point, but I find it difficult to say which level Ewan would be, like you said the level in the UK is not as high as other European countries. He probably wouldn't be in the top 40 here like he is now.
@bavelcoАй бұрын
@@chucky8894 The Netherlands, France. Ewan is a very good player, but nowhere near the top (pro) guys in I guess all the countries. He has a level way below that. I play a lot of padel myself, so I'm able to estimate that reasonably well. At p400/500 level in Belgium, a lot of players have good bandeja's, vibora's , bajada's, chiquita's, etc. I play sometimes with expats from spain and Italy. E.g. the spanish guys Cat.4 / 5... man they can play very well, like Ewan. And they are just considered "intermediate" in spain lol.

Nice video! And really cool to have met Steven Gerrard. Especially in an unexpected place like a padel club.

Great vid Ewan!! Don't know if it's my impression or your returns are high bc as you hit the ball you stand up as well, not sure if it is but would be a nice vid talking how to fix this type of "error" (bc i do it as well lol)

Love the content, could u make a video about the different racket swapes or an updated one?
@mocee83Ай бұрын
Ur fitness level could have been affected because of change in weather conditions. How did u find playing in Middle East conditions as compared to the UK, i would assume like most the hot conditions would have depleted liquids from your body within a few minutes and so probably players living there are accustomed to that and that is why their power game and finishing points early is at such a high level as compared to build up and long points. Thats just an observation, i would love to hear more from u Ewan. Once again great video and great content for padel fans.

If you had the chance to start the learning journey again.Would you learn how to play left handed (even if your right handed) to have a strong right side game? I ask because I have tennis elbow on my right side and want to get into Padel🤪

been watching your videos for months now. but now i need to comment - u say u play fast and good viboras - and i was thinking, do i watch teh same video as you? you play all very good but your over the head shots are just very weak for your other level of skill. i know some ex tennis guys who are like really avergae in paddle that have better overheads. I think you have to improve this a lot, the viboras are max mid-high advanced level where I am playing (and there is still expert level and elite level which I dont have)
@garymurrayaАй бұрын
you dont get your body behind your volleys, its all arm..... maybe you are too close to the net to be able to react. Also at the net, look at how you hold your pala? its not out far enough, its as if you are too relaxed, split seconds make a big difference and this could also be a reason you dont get your body behind your volleys... IMHO
