Yes, and a lot cheaper too with the current ammo prices. Make a catchbox and you can reuse the Steel Ammo as well!

I am watching the Scout X owners manual. I think I will settle for my last frame in the Hammer model with arm band support. The Hammer Hold is my preference. Your slingshots are outstanding.

Absolutely brand new to slingshots, this video is excellent; great job Nathan & camera crew. I appreciate the close in angle shots. I'm on vacation & plan to order the Scout X when I get home, but in the meantime i have been following this channel for all updated info (plus motivation). This video is another tool i really needed to get me prepared to start off smoothly & not make assumptions.

Amazing video! I learned a lot here. I did not know you could set it up for through the forks. Tuning was a huge game changer for me. I’ve been practicing a lot without tuning at all, I just used the band it came with and I guess I even had those installed wrong! Now I know how to install bands correctly as well (flat bands) and it’s not very much of a guessing game anymore. I could kinda group shots NEAR the targets before tuning and installing correctly, now I believe I’m hitting targets due to these rules. I’m brand new, talking 2 weeks into training and only just leaning about tuning. My draw length is 27 inches. I like the palm swell. I do NOT like the feel of the frame without it; it’s awkward feeling but I do really like the idea of it being lighter, low-profile and am going to customize to make it comfy and still work with the swells. I am considering stippling it just to give it a personality, it is grippy enough and not practically necessary.

This looks like a great evolution to a great product line. It's funny, because I was just thinking of my ideal Scout. I have quite small hands for an adult male, and the Scout LT was a no-brainer for me. I just picked up the Axiom Champ for something a little smaller yet, but find that I miss some of the thicker, sculpted shape of the Scouts. Sooo... any plans for a smaller Scout than the LT? I think I would fall in love with about an 80 - 85% version of the Scout LT. Also, will there be screw options for this attachment that don't require a hex tool to change bands?

I just got my X today. I left the General Purpose band set full length just to start. Within 5 minutes I was putting 3/8 steel into a quarter size target at the furtherest distance my garage allows. Using the fiber optic, the balls hit a few inches high of my mark but dead on horizontally. Tomorrow I will shoot outside and find out what the distance is that the fiber optic is set for with my anchor point. Then, in the field, I will need only to hold that bright green dot higher or lower depending on distance. No more purely instinctive for me. BTW, I've always shot with a hamme grip, but the Scout X screams for a thumb brace grip, something I've never done, but within 5 or 6 shots I had that method mastered. i have other slingshots but as of today they are retired. I cant see me ever wanting to shoot one that is not Simpleshot Scout X. Sounds like a commercial, right? But no. I've no affiliation with Simpleshot nor any retailer. I am just super pleased to have met this slingshot.

I like making my own frames and my latest one looks suspiciously like the X with perhaps a narrower gap. Great minds do think alike. Making the frames is as important to me as shooting, but I have been considering buying this model, Anyway I'm glad that I checked this video out since I was ignorant about the proper band length and now I'm going to be cutting them down about two inches. I buy all my bands from you, BTW. Thanks for the tip. I shoot nearly every day on my daily walks.

Time takes time. We learn at our own pace. You didn’t know about it until you learned about it. But now that I know I’ll pass the information along to those who haven’t yet learned that lesson, and I’ll show no surprise that they didn’t know about it, before they knew about It, when I do. Instead I’ll ask them if they happen to know something that I don’t. You can’t learn anything if you already think that you know everything.

I know this post is a year old but I got a junk slingshot that broke and now I have a scout xt. The difference is amazing and I’m about to modify my bands for a little more power! I was curious how long do bands last? Is there a certain amount of time and ammo or do they start to crack or something? I just don’t want one smacking me in the face

All of our slingshots come with 2 of the Standard Flat Bands 7/16".

I have the scout x and i love it, i would like to put my 70+ ft-lb bandset on it, but i don't know what material the scout x is made of and the bandset has around 40 pounds draw weight, i don't want to risk breaking ore bending the fork, it would be very helpfull to know if the material is strong enough for this setup

The Scout X is made from a Mil Spec fiber reinforced thermoplastic. It should hold up fine. What size ammo do you shoot? There really is no need for such stout bands and you may see an increased velocity with thinner latex as it retracts to the relaxed state quicker. This in turn gives a faster shot velocity.

That is some big ammo! I would tie my own bands so that the lightest draw weight could be found.

This will depend on the ammo you use, bands, and the elongation factor. Generally, up to around 10ft lbs and higher if using really hot bands and heavy ammo. Not sure how many joules.

I don't like the Scout X. I found it caused stress in the hand and I have big hands. Not the best one out of all of them. That could just be me though. I would have preferred Simpleshot to have upgraded the Scout LT. Sorry Guys.
