I first record 2-5 lines of guitar playing depending on complexity and then i use my mixed audio track and record myself covering it again with video. Then I use those videos and cut the final video out of both audio track and visuals.

I have listened to this for the 20th time. I always wanted to have COB instrumentals (rare hard to find quality) You lowered the vocals and rythm to really shine those melodies/harmonies and play it amazing. Early COB is some of my favorite music.

Bro you have some amazing tone and form. (I feel like that's the best compliment for a guitar player from another) I can tell from watching your playing you're extremely skilled but you can just listen and know on a song like this lol. I have been playing for about 25 years but many of those years I didn't practice due to heroin addiction and homelessness. Finally clean now the last 2.5yrs! But my hands are fucked up from collapsing the veins in them, major regret. I've been playing everyday for the last few years again. Working on my sweeps finally getting some jaw drops from people that hear it. I wish I didn't fuck my hands up man cause the gains are so hard nowadays on the fine motor stuff like sweeping but I'm down to grind it out until I die. I will be totally honest here, that lick usually doesn't sound that clean when I play it either. But you know what happened that day? I actually spent a few hours playing that song, especially the solo. I will say what all the guitar players I'm following usually say: play it very slow and very clean for very long time until it clicks and it starts to feel right. What I find is helping me the most is being aware of the transitions between strings. In this case, we have 2 notes/string, which means that between strings, depending on the stroke you start on (up-stroke, down-stroke), you will keep that stroke direction between strings. In my case, I start with a down-stoke. So I had a lot of work to do on outside picking in this case (so when you switch strings, you pick like this: 2>| |
