Which had been done without destroying Magic. So they could’ve just reversed that without taking gamble other people’s lives, and worlds. It was reckless, selfish, and unnecessary. Her best friend Princess pony head is legitimately a being who runs on Magic to fly, it could’ve killed her and it still might. As she might running on whatever Magic she had left like a battery.

The fact that Star has to ask ''Glossaryck what's gonna happen to you?'' just shows how irresponsible this decision was. She wasn't thinking about the people she was hurting and killing, she wasn't thinking of the people who relied on magic for everyday tasks (Pony head relied on magic to float). She wasn't thinking, she was (no offense) being a typical teenager who doesn't understand the ramifications of her actions. I could maybe forgive her if she was conscious that she was committing mass genocide, but she wasn't, she didn't even know what was going to happen until it was too late.

The magic Pony used to fly was different from the one the Butterfly family used, as seen by Pony still managing to fly in the finale even after the magic is destroyed, the magic that Tom uses is also different as its from the underworld not the world of magic. The only ones dying from the magic being destroyed were Glossaryck (who already knew it was going to happen as it was clear he had knowledge of every even to ever happen as he could travel back and forth in time) and the magic high commission (Heckapo was also aware of it and even she said it was the right choice, and to be fair they did deserve it after centuries of abusing the magic)

I keep seeing people mention how irresponsible this was, how it was more harmful than helpful, as if the monster racists weren't going to use the portals to hunt down monsters everywhere even after they finished with Mewni. Look, I’m gonna be honest. I never saw the show, I don’t care about it, but I read the episodes online. The fact that the finale ended with the four royals “destroying magic”… that’s BS, even to me. Here’s how I think the overall series should’ve gone at the end of Season 2: When Star gives her wand back to Eclipsa, said woman not only gives the wand back to Star, but also puts her full trust in Star to rule as the next queen. Because all Eclipsa wants is to be with her monster husband and baby. She does agree to be Star’s advisor though, helping her out with any problems and even help guide her in learning new spells, not to mention help with rewriting the spell book. The series throughout season 3 would kinda be the same, with some minor differences, especially for Mina (whose whole goal sounds vastly stupid). As the season progresses, Star’s powers not only become stronger, but she also learns more about the Butterfly Family situation. And during the finale, INSTEAD of destroying the magic, Star, Moon, Eclipsa and her daughter turns the old magic into a new kind of magic. Not only ending the “cycle curse”, but also creating a new path and legacy for Mewman kind. A new legacy where everyone accepts the Monsters into society, and the magic isn’t as corrupted as the Bastard King that caused the problems for Eclipsa and her family, and Star can finally be able to start her new “mission” in life as a future queen in training: a queen who actually grows and learns, to make choices for herself and not some “predestined” crap, decides what she wants to do in life. In a way, this new magic would better story-wise. It would mean that a new generation has begun, that changes can happen for the better and that everyone can and should learn from and grow from this experience. I’m saying that if you’re gonna have a finale that makes sense and doesn’t feel like lazy writing, make a finale that’s fitting: as in Star actually growing and learned from her experiences, not hate magic for the wrong reasons and just give the overall final season something that’s worth talking about in a good way. Because the last few episodes… BS. The reasons the Butterfly family had to be “cursed”… BS. The flawed storyline about why the Butterly Family, abuse of magic and such…BS. All I’m reading in the comments is how Star’s seen as a “selfish person”. Yeah, we’ll if Star’s the selfish one, what does that make Moon and Eclipsa? If Star was selfish, then everything she did to protect her friends and family would be a complete and utter waste. The middle of Season 2 & 3 just seemed liked it had nothing to do with the overall plot of the series. What happened to protecting the world from evil? Did the writers just decide “Welp, we’ve used up all of our ideas on villains, let’s just use power corruption and racism as the “evil” parts.”? Because if that’s true, COMPLETE lazy writing on their ends!

As good as the show was, every good thing has to come to an end. If the show was continued on, like most shows the writers would run out of ideas and story plot points and it would simply go down hill. Stranger things is a great example of this, but Netflix got greedy and milked the hell out of it. Stranger things hasn’t been good since season 2. Star VS The Forces of Evil ended really well and as much as I loved it I don’t wish for there to be another season. Now that there’s no magic there’s not much they can do with the show and personally, it’s not a matter I’m upset about. I’ve never personally been more satisfied to an ending of a series then I was with SVTFOE, there’s no need to carry it on as in my opinion it was perfect.

Eclipsa was the best. She immediately leapt into action to save Star. Using a spell she did not want to use. Her last resort. Didn’t like the ending tho. It was foolish to destroy the magic. Magic kept so many alive, connected so many universes. It had to be a foundational element of existence. All they needed to do was stop Mina. To do it they needed to give Marco and his team the same strength boost. Star and Moon use their Butterfly Forms. Actually, just trapping her IN the realm of magic would erase her memory and she would never be found again. As for the rest of her army, there had to be a de-power spell they could use in spite of Solaria’s power keeping them going. Several dark powers at Eclipsa’s disposal. If not, then lead a mass exodus. Let them have Mewnie. There are plenty of other worlds to retreat to. Heckapoo’s world already has monsters, bring them there.
