Blessed be the Japanese language use of syllabary and not alphabets that makes it so incredibly predisposed to puns. As a Malay speaker -- a language that is excellent for prose and poetry but is almost bereft of puns -- I sometimes truly feel like I'm missing out on a whole world of knee-slappers and golfclap-worthy punchlines from never learning Japanese.

Really? I mean Indonesia language that also have malay influence can make pun😅, my Father always cracking that joke.

@@MADShade1 To be fair, most languages are opposite grammar of English, blame the Vikings as Norwegian is same order and the Norse immigration influenced English's development in the mix of celtic, saxon(german), and french. =P
@lolipedofin3 жыл бұрын

@@lolipedofin true, I've heard chinese, japanese, and english are considered top 3 hardest languages to learn for various reasons. Grammar, character count, etc. =P
@NekRulez3 жыл бұрын
@@PerfectDeath4 that is the case, Japanese grammar is something else while Chinese can have 4 diff words that sound the same but each have different meaning resulting in thousands of words on top of diff combo words can have way too many different meanings. An upside of Japanese is that kanji is basically just Chinese words with a slight diff meaning and pronunciation but most the same so sometimes its not hard to guess wat the Japanese meant by hearing or reading. English wasn't my first language, mandarin was so I know how hard it was to learn English which resulted in my decline of mandarin to the point of only mostly speaking and reading to certain extent and completely forgetting how to write it.
