all other contemporary pianists; but perhaps look up little known, rebecca penneys from Eastman. especially her transcriptions like, "i got rhythm". very close to the musical conception of this fine musician

Those who voted this thumbs down have "spirits dark as night...let no such man be trusted." I suppose that people who like pianists to bang their way through music would detest this supremely musical performance...

The most outstanding solo of this heavenly piece and as to the Cello Sonata Horowitz and Rostropovich is beyond compare .

It's kind of over-dramatic. The piece itself is beautiful though.

It's funny that his eyebrows tells when he lifts the pedal

I prefer Volodos' rendering over this interpretation, but that's my opinion. That's why restaurants have menus.

He completely misunderstood the whole character and style of Volodos.

while I liked the way he slowed down and emphasized some parts in the beginning... the climax and resolution was a little too exaggerated, even outright bombastic for me. I still prefer Volodos' performance, but thank Evgeni for performing it unlike all the other pianists who only play the Turkish March..

Volodos has the uncanny ability to make this piece into a unified journey from the first to the last bar. As much as I love Bozhanov, this performance feels too delineated and the polyphony doesn't flow quite so seamlessly.
