Totally agree with your comment, Fanofice. People who say there is no artistry in Plushenko's performances is blind, he is the perfection on ice, his "arrogance" is just a solid confidence in what he does.

There is an expectation of perfection- sums up his whole career, he had this colossal weight of expectation on his shoulders since he won world junior champs at 14 and he always delivered, he put his body on the line, doing things no one else dared and produced great art, incredible technical skills and even laughs along the way- a skater who could embody the grace and strength of Nijinsky and do 'sex bomb'? there will never be another, god bless you! makes me so happy to see him skate

When Yuzu said he was inspired by Evgeni, he really wasn’t kidding. There’s something of Evgeni in Yuzuru when he skates. How touching it must be to know you inspired somebody that much.

It doesn't get any more awesome than that! His footwork was just as elite as his jumps and he also did some spin variety with those forward sit spins. As for the commentators, I can't believe they had Scott Hamilton and Dick Button together:-)

He's a member of the amateur athletes' hall of fame. He was good but he retired early and went into real estate. Evgeny is still skating and coaching, so he still gets the spotlight. Both awesome skaters.

個人的に男子シングルのショートで一番好きなプログラム。プルシェンコといえば4回転・超絶技巧ステップ・超高速スピンとか技術的に派手な面が特徴的に見えるけれども、他のプログラム含めて何度も何度も観たくなるプルシェンコの魅力ってなんだろう？と考えてみると、そもそもの選曲センス・曲に合わせた滑りのセンス・何度でも観たいと心が惹きつけられるエネルギッシュかつ繊細な表現力etc..である事に気づかされました。4回転抜きの"Tribute to nijinsky"が観れる2010年ジャパンオープンも、何度でも観たくなる演技だったし、結局4回転とか派手な技術だけでなく単純にフィギュアスケートの魅力が沢山詰まっているから、プルシェンコのトスカは最高！なのかなと勝手に思い込んでいます。

Для тех, кому программа НЕ понравилась. Музыка «повторяется», потому что это ария из «Тоски» от начала до конца. Вам, видимо, не понятна музыка, поэтому не понятен образ и хореография. Черный строгий лаконичный костюм с минимальным украшательством в данном случае также подходит к образу. Было бы, по меньшей мере, странно, если бы Каварадосси разоделся по-петушиному, как Ламбьель, костюм которого, кстати, много критиковался. То же можно сказать и про «Крестного отца». Да, оба, костюма черные, но они разные, так же как и программы и образы в них. Черный цвет идет далеко не каждому. Чтобы носить черное, нужны соответствующие внешние данные. У Плющенко они есть. Эмоций, конечно, Плющенко дал маловато (он сам это признавал), - нужен был «чистый» прокат, поэтому он был максимально собран. Эти программы можно увидеть в гораздо более эмоциональном исполнении на других соревнованиях и показательных.

Пересматриваю через 5 лет и на фоне сегодняшней хореографии в программах наших девочек, где КАЖДОЕ движение и и жесты в музыку, обе его ЭКСПРЕССИВНЫЕ дорожки под МЕДЛЕННУЮ музыку уже не впечатляют.. Каскад выполнил тяжело а вот аксель был великолепен

Значит, не только у меня диссонанс)) Очень советуют именно эту программу как эталонную, и внезапное торпедирование на фоне всё такой же медленной музыки ничего кроме недоумения не вызвало.

exactly. I watched Johnny Weir's interview, he said that skating is not easy to understand, especially for ppl who only watch it once in 4 year, skating is also such a political sport & only 1 country should be on podium, that's y he's being sacrificed tsk, Weir is the 1 who deserve much more scores than Lysacek, but well, aint he's such a poster boy. Plushenko might say the art is not important,but honestly, he did give us great artistry on his performance, those judges were the ones who blind

Totally agreed. The same trio four years later is so against him even though his program from Torino is technically and artistically almost identical to the programhe skated in Vancouver. They were CONSTANTLY underlying how bad is Plushenko in all elements except jumps. Saying that Plushenko's choreography is not good is almost a blasphemy

Except for maybe his 2010 SP and the Sochi team competition where he commanded the ice, Plushenko's composure at the Olympics is so different than his usual. I understand why that might be because the Olympics are HUGE, but it still surprises me that he actually seems nervous at the beginning of this. Something even the most gifted contend with, I guess. But he worked it out really well 8-)

From 2005-08 I synonymised this music with Plushenko and his program. But after watching the film Milk, I must say I will NEVER think of it the same way!
