No one else can make look so effortless and delicate, almost fragile, an intricated and amazingly difficult routine like this, just the queen Kanaeva, I truly think she deserves to be called a goddes of this sport. Her leaps, her pivots, her balances, all with the precision of a box ballerina but with the soul in the skin, it's just her the ribbon and the floor, nothing else matter.

@@ryomaechizen4400 you can see the body difficulties set of almost every routines since 2013 till even now. They took Kanaeva’s recipe: balance combination (frontscale+ring, but later they did the Sakura, which is easier in a combination), penche pivot, series of turning split leaps with backbend, backscale , and the most recognizable: the ring pivot with leg high up.

This actually WAS the most difficult routine. It had the highest difficulty score of all the RG routines at the 2008 Olympics. And she makes it look easy!

before this, whilst i could appreciate the beauty of this routine, i didn't know enough about RG to understand how technically superb Kanaeva was. this routine really showcased her breadth of pirouettes-most of which require back flexibility. what's even more impressive is that she was able to execute some of them *combined* (like the first two elements). it's a true testament to her versatility that makes her the unparalleled, greatest rhythmic gymnast of all time.

Согласна .. но только шас и правила другие ... шас больше ценится акробатика , а не гимнастика ... шас не нужно иметь грацию и красоту , растяжку и балетные данные. Шас можно поносится по ковру , натрюкачить и все ! Ты на пьедестале ...

Just saw Mamums documentary. Now I‘m like „did they treat her the same way?“ whenever I see a russian gymnast...

I don't think so, mainly because zhenya was a top gymnast, she won everything (almost) while mamum had a harder time in competitions (for example, she doesn't have an european champ all around gold medal under her belt) and during her cycle yana was the favorite. But I also think that zhenya's coach has a lot of voice on the novgorsk center, she is an old coach there, she seemed to be very sweet with zhenya, also during a interview, irina has said that she actually had to tell kanaeva to leave because she would stay endless hours on the gym. I wish there was a doc about zhenya's experience tho

@@moonlightchill4538 one importantthing is that mamun was one of viner's pupil (yana nooooo), and was lot of times personally trained by Viner, while Kanaeva,like Yana,never, i mean yeah sometimes during competitions, but they got way less attentions by Viner. Kaneva was always coached by Shtelbaums and her staff, lucky for both the had and still have one of the greatest relationships,and Vera was alreadu respected in the center ,having trained tchachina before(let's remembe it' thanks to Vera's vote Dmitrieva was able to go to london). i think at the end Kanaeva got some ugly moments with Viner ,but less because she got less attention...isn't weird that the most decorated and of the humblest gymasts ever was never loved by Viner, nor Madama was able to fully appreciate her(i mean how she can put on the same level mamun and kanaeva?)

Тогда были другие правила, и по тем правилам каждому предмету соответствовал свой элемент, и в ленте нало было сделать около 15 различных пируэтов и поворотов. А риски полноценно стали делать в следующем олимпийском цикле
