Mathieu Ganio is a very elegant dancer my favorite in Opera de Paris and the pair with Obratzova is amazing, both are very good technically and have a good chemistry 👏🙌🎶

i am so glad her dream of guesting with POB came true. Her La Sylphide is still the talk of the town. And she is listed in POB program as artiste invitee. so happy for her.. Nobody even came close to her performance with MG. She is the prima ballerina assoluta for me.

Wow, such wonderful artistry and acting. Gorgeous dancing from both of them. One of the best mad scenes I have ever seen!! Genia's turns are just breathtaking. Superb all round, orchestra great too.

I saw the snippet of the variation in another video and am so glad I found this! She really is superb, and he is an excellent partner for her---he takes such care in partnering her, and anywhere you look, he's matching his steps and arm/leg positions to hers. I first came to love her attention to crafting a role in a Swan Lake a friend sent me, and she has only gotten better as she's matured. True artistry. I just love her. And, unlike the bulk of the Bolshoi principal women, she's proportioned more like a normal person and isn't all arms and legs!

I like the way the Corps are so involved in the Mad Scene, unlike in some productions where they just stand and watch.

I remember seeing a little documentary about this, too, or one of their performances together, somewhere here. Genia spoke of her admiration for MG's total dedication and his professionalism. Elsewhere she commented on it being her dream to guest at POB and also said one of her costumes (SB?) was in the 'etoile' style.

Really intelligent and beautifully crafted first act. Not sure where the credit goes, to MG or the AD, but Albrecht is really fleshed out better than I've ever seen him. Also true for Hilarion, Bathilde, Berthe, and the corps. And ah, Genia---she just gets more wonderful every time I see her!

Also, the corps is very well coached dramatically (although underpinning their enjoyment of, eg, Giselle dancing for them is genuine enjoyment---they'd probably be smiling happily without the stage direction because it looks like they're genuinely happy to be watching Genia dance). Which I guess makes sense if this is the Stanislavski Ballet

behold my heart! such a beauty before my eyes. Genia is the loveliest, most joyful Giselle here. And her mad scene is scary good. This is how Giselle should be danced. I love Mathieu Ganio too. They have amazing chemistry together. I wish i could see more of them. Genia should guest at POB.

I hate this. Hate the mad scene. She broke my heart! Well done, Genia! My only issue is Ganio - he's not so much of an actor. I remember seeing Kobborg and god, was he very good.
