I have always said this, Chrystle is the best thing that could have happened to Blake Carrington. Not only because she was beautiful, sweet, strong, and made him so happy. But also because she was open-minded, loving kind, and so caring. She was not only good for him because she was such a great lady. But lets face it people, in the beginning Blake was cold, selfish, homophobic, greedy, hateful in someways, and even a little corrupt. He was used to buying and scheming to get what he wanted. In the beginning he was almost the vilian, Alexis was just the result of all that. But over the years, Chrystel changed him. She pointed out when he was very wrong, and she helped shape him into a much better person. She made him moral, likeable. By the 3rd season, you liked Blake, and over the years you liked him a lot more. Chrystel was written to be the moral compass, and boy did she do it well. By the time the show was in its last few seasons Blake and Chrystel were the couple everyone liked. Yes they were rich, but they were good people trying to deal with Alexis and other villians. So in conclusion, everyone should have someone like Chrystel in their lives to make them better people. 🥰😊

Alexis wasn't a villain at all. Blake's kicked her out of her house and made her sign an agreement about not seeing any of her children for years. She's just made him pay for what he's done to her in the past, that's it. Alexis cared about Blake, too. And she could've been a fine wife for Blake again if Crystall wasn't there between two of them. Crystall isn't the saint, too, because she fell in love with a married man, Matthew Blaisdel, she almost destroyed Claudia's life. Also, she was involved with Nick Toscani in season 2. And she made Blake feel like sh... in Season 5 (I guess, it was season 5) with Daniel Reece, Sammy Jo's father. Again, she was the one who brought Sammy Jo to Blake's house and caused a lot of troubles by doing that. Steven left the house and was almost dead in the end of season 2 simply because of that. She also made Sarah to kill her own child in season 7 (Sarah's child was still alive no matter what and its heart was easily cut out, because Crystall wanted to be a mother so bad).

I had forgotten how young Linda Evans looked in the pilot. Also, her hair while somewhat the same looks more natural here. It was always interesting to me that they switched the position of the staircase from left to right. I guess for tv purposes it was “easier” to film it being on the right side of the stage versus the left. I’m not sure why it’s the only thing I can think of. I remembered watching the pilot which was 3 hours long kind of boring and stretched out but I came back the following and by the end of the season I was all in. Especially, the mystery veiled lady entering the courtroom. I’m 58 now and I miss those days of 3 channels and no vcr and having to watch it or you missed it. Good times and great memories.

The best pilot of the 1980s soap operas...Perfect acting. Dynasty became a joke after season 3 Linda Evans really had acting chops and the Pollocks nixed it No wonder Pamela Sue Martin quit the show at the end of season 4

The pilot was majestic in a way the show would not maintain, certainly after the first couple of excellent seasons -- mature and stately... However, I would slap some reverb on the conversation in the hallway to convey size and to obscure the looping.

also i have no concious proof, but i'm sure of it that they kept moving studios and editing the entry hallway floor plan every year. I just keep watching it and thinking, i'm sure i saw it change many times, what you see in direct line from the door. which makes me perceive their house as a surrealist shape-shifting house xD

They reversed the staircase direction so they could film someone walking from the stairs to the entrance from one angle instead of having two camera set-ups. They also shifted the staircase so that it aligned with the dining room instead of the library to create space for the living room. After the first two seasons they moved to a different studio, the set designers reconfigured the sets at that time.
