His technique is remarkable. The stillness of the wrists and the strength and flexibility in the fingers are what allows him to do such nuanced interpretations. Of course it's his mind that is the best part. Supremely musical and in complete control.

The music is always first with this incredible man......never the technique. It serves the music and wonderful sound he makes, never an end for anything else. I LOVE his humility: seems totally unaware that we are listening. The music is everything. Other pianists leave me in awe of them. Kissin leaves me ALWAYS in awe of the music. I am so glad that I am alive to hear him perform. I now love many more composers because he has made sense of their music for me. Thank you Mr Kissin.

That's exactly how he makes me feel. His Chopin piano concerto #1 performance is as if you're actually back in the 1800s in a music hall listening to Chopin himself.

Completely agree! The thing is that he is a real artist, a musician simply, not a showman. And yes, the technique must serve for music, not the music for technique.
