We have so many genres in Nigeria right we listen to any genre based on the occasion in parties we can have like fuji, juju, highlife , afrobeat, afrobeats but you see there is afro-pop , afro fusion from burna but the mother tree is afrobeat, they mix r&b, pop , rock pop , soul , electronic with afrobeat which gives u afrobeats or like burna says afro fusion

She’s Tems cousin & we have different genres & sub genres. Afrobeats, Highlife, Juju , Fuji etc . Afrobeats has Afrorave, Afropop etc. I’m surprised that she’s high up coz I mean Yemi Alade is currently the biggest female artiste out of Nigeria & other artistes such as Niniola, Teni( Niniola’s sister) , Fave , Ugoccie , Tiwa Savage etc are killing it. Also check out Achikolo, Ogene , Ashewo, Looking Nyash you’d love them. Nigerian music but not Afrobeats and they have really danceable beats

At a time in Nigeria entertainment history, hip-pop/ American music dominated the soundscape till the 2000's, around the 2010's or a bit earlier than that(stand to be corrected) the soundscape changed. It's somewhat difficult for hip-hop Nigerian artists to make it big( few exceptions). Afrobeats; afropop; afroswing is the ish, songs like this and other more are the rave of the musical soundscape in Nigerian ( everything Afro).

Yes we listen to African music generally but then we listen to a lot of music around the world also. Like different genres have come and gone in Nigeria. From Raggae to Hip Hop to R &B and then with African sounds, it is hard to exhaust beats because we mostly move to beats and we make up new ones all the time.
