Sad. A person has to go through all this. When people stay at your property and don’t pay rent. They should have to leave right away. Our system needs fixed I would never want to be a landlord.

Took 18 months redundancy from Southwark Council in 2017. Just as Universal Credit was coming in. Best thing I ever did!

What if your tenant is deliberately withholding rent, because they want to extort compensation from you?

Some tenants just have no respect are dirty and a noise nuisance to neighbours. Others are excellent and are grown up and decent enough to know how to behave in a reasonable manner.

Did you get it back ? Did you need bailfs? How much did the renter ow? Did they crash the place,or steal furnitures? Did you manage to kerp your property without going bankerupt or loose it to the bank? Im horrifyed at your ridiculess law system,who let renters destroy landlords. Its so bad!

@@TG-hp8og got it back. Bailiffs came. Arrears ibckuded court fees about £850 took 6.5 months in total.

I’ve never been in arrears. The agent 1 week ago asked for a rent increase of 20% and today threatened me with eviction as he’d not heard from me. This is a pretty aggressive, bullying approach.

You haven’t said whether your tenancy agreement was coming to the end of it’s term, or not, when the rent increase was asked for. A little more context would be needed to judge whether the landlord is bullying you!

@@Neilukuk what do you want to know? Manchester City centre. Fortunately I had the landlords details, contacted him directly and agreed a deal. This eviction threat is nothing to do with the landlord, it the agents way to behave and how they get want they want (commission) by frightening tenants into accepting and not negotiating.

Your in wrong. How long did you stay in this apartment? It IS normal ho regulate rent acoordingly , the value of the money . Everything else are regulated too. Do you have the idea your rent should stay put on the same sum ? For how long? And do rent include other things? To little information, but from what you are telling, you have to know you shouldnt rrally complain. Btw,you paying on time , is a given, its nothing one get any prize or praise for....

Did you feel they should work for free ? Pay your rent,on time . Dont like the rent , then move. Your expectations are just wrong.

The most landlords I know they are serving notice 21 is because they now the rent market is quite high they want a lot of profit.

Actually, landlords want out of the market. Bad tenants are not worth the trouble. There should be a bad tenants list.

No. Landlords are taken advanted of by bad tenants whi expect the landlord accomodate them. Its nasty. I know landlord loose everything,because of shitty tenant. He had his own house,worked hard for it ,and had loans. And when parents died,he inherred their apartment. With it, another loan on the apartment,and the taxes. When tenant stopped the rent, he lost everything. Everything. People need to understand, most landlords arent rich, they need the rent to keep what they have. Its nasty,how so many act like they have rights to use the landlord. Nasty ,and ignorant.
