I really appreciate the time and research that you put into this episode. I am a third time mother who is due to deliver any day now, and this episode helped to give me the confidence in my decision to allow my body and instincts to direct me rather than my provider. I tore two times with my other children, and I feel deep down inside that it was due to the forceful pushing and birthing positions I was directed into. Thank you for empowering women to trust in their instincts.

This was a fabulous group of podcasts. I know Vicki Penwell and have the greatest respect for her. The information on her hands off birth makes me really re-think how I practice. I have only done 1 episiotomy in 13 years and I think I was as traumatized as my patient. I have a high intake perineum rate and maybe 2-5 (if that many) 3rd/4th degree tears. I do know after this series, I can do better, still. Thank you.

How did you manage tears grade 1& 2

Please guide because I too am traumatised to give episiotomies.

@@SairaSabir1443AH I repaired them if they were too far apart or didn’t approximate well. My back up doctor did 3rd and 4th repairs.

I love your info! I feel very empowered as a FTM and due very soon 🤰🏼 I have shared a lot of your info and even feel a little inspired to look into this as a possible career after birth. Thank you for all you do in this important work!

Thank you so so so much for another amazing podcast! I always feel so empowered after listening and so excited to share the data with whoever will listen, usually at the expense of my husbands patience. Because of the evidence you’ve presented here, I was able to ask smarter questions and noticed many red flags from Obstetrician, such as him bragging about his ability and frequent use of vacuums/forceps and episiotomies (at top hospital in US), and forcing women to labor and deliver on their back so he can have a “better view.” Ive since switched to a midwifery group and I’m so happy with my decision. Thank you again!
