Evidence, Revelation and Faith

So, let's take stock of the evidence for God's existence. There's two main categories of how God alleged to be evident: general revelation and special revelation. But should we take this evidence as authoritative automatically? Or should we filter it through reason? Should reason reject all of the claims of faith, or is faith immune to the criticisms of reason? Aquinas's view is that even if faith has a place in life, arguments and reason do too.
