MekanikKommandoh88 Me being a dumb ass tried to fight it with a Gunlance then had Vietnam flashbacks to MH4U...I only fight AT Kirin with Light Bowgun or hammer, the mobility is a necessity.

Joseph Murray I typically use greatsword against regular Tempered Kirin, but had to revert to bowgun against this thing. Can’t imagine trying to use CB, but then again Max was trying to spam SAED against it, which is a no-no in any case, but doubly so because it was an elemental one.

MekanikKommandoh88 The other two Kirins I can use hammers or even hunting horn against it but for AT Kirin I exclusively use LBG with rapid fire flame shots and sleep ammo for sleep bombing it. I've solo'd it around 20 minutes (had a Gajalaka bomb it to he'll for a lot of extra damage that round though). But yea LBG isn't too bad.

Actually in legend and pretty much every game where they're not intentionally made to be fluff and cuteness, unicorns are pretty hardcore. You know that saying that they're only attracted to pure maidens? What they don't tell you is they tend to skewer anyone else that tries to get too close, mostly with high success. They used to be one of my favorite units in Heroes of Might and Magic.

I've never played MH World just Generations, but I think I have a good understanding of that monster. Attack from front = Horn up your ass Attack from back = A little damage then it just runs forward at light speed like you didn't touch it. Then you get struck by lightning. Heal = Struck by lightning Sharpen your weapon = Struck by lightning Try to gain distance = Majestic horse gallop that instantly closes distance then struck by lightning and horned. Mount = The best horse back rider ever, for 2 seconds, then shrugged off and struck by lightning.

@@Raydr62 I know, I'm still a HBG main but LBG is a lot of fun and if you are (you should be) using the right ammo for the job and sleep bombing while using your wyvern stakes you can dish out some nasty damage. HBG would still more than likely get the job done faster but LBG makes it easier to fight and dodge.

Little tip when going for fully loaded discharges with the Charge Blade: if the monster is very mobile or moves as soon as you prep into your discharge animation, always reload your phials by tapping R1 (or whatever you have assigned). By reloading, you will shorten the need to fill your phials and be able to easily get back and forth into the larger phial bursts.

Honestly this monster becomes drastically easy in a solo hunt. Also eat for elemental resist large and invest in quick sheath, speed eat, stun resist, para resist and shield jewels. I main Lance and did it in about 12 min a run with a Fire elemental weapon. I do agree that the rewards are sub-par but I do use the head piece of the blossom layer frequently.

I have a love hate relationship with Kirin. I main the Insect glaive, but fight him with a Long sword. Nailing Foresight slashes into the lightning is satisfying as fuck. But that lighting pony springs all over the place and generally is more frustrating than satisfying >.

In the deepest reaches of the mh community, legendary hunters exist who can fire off the SAED in the middle of nowhere and use their psychic powers to bade monsters into them. Dood you are not one of those hunters. But AT Kirin sure is.

A way to cut some of the BS out of (Arch) Tempered Kirin is to have the Bombardier skill maxed out and always carry enough items with you to get about 10 Mega Barrel Bombs as well as a farcaster. It's not the most efficent way of dealing with him, but it cuts out a Hell of a lot of BS.

wow, te chat trolled Max on that armor after watching him get eletrocuted over and over for hours? Nasty. Also, monsters like that one get made when people complain of a lack of difficulty. It's one of the worst habits of 'hardcore' gamers, who always want something to be nearly impossible except for people 'on their level'. KF2, a shooting game I play, had that until they released robots who can firee rockets and shoot lasers into the game who also have a high dodge skill and are super tough. Now everyone is complaining they're ridiculous.

Sure, AT Kirin was a real slog to deal with... unless you ran a set with a (boosted by food) 63 Thunder Resist stat. Then it's just a war of attrition, and the only thing to really fear was the Megabolt when it's enraged.

AT Kirin is one of those fights that's really fun and intense (albeit a little drawn out) solo and an utter flustercuck in a group. More people just increases the probability of someone getting one-shot, and it's harder to predict Kirin's movements when he's attacking multiple people. I'd rather have two carts to myself and have a more controlled go at it.

Definitely agree that Vaal armor is better but I think the Kirin set is better than it gets credit for. Free elem 2 on the chest is versatile alongside beta Kirin legs, and the arms are also great just because of slots plus free elem. Not to mention the waist is sweet for dual blades. It's not remotely as impressive as Vaal gamma, for sure, but it's a good "enabler" set, so to speak, allowing for a good share of builds to work thanks to the stuff it offers.

Well in heavensward there is a king behemoth that when he does his meteor it will one shot anyone close by. It was a hunt in the game and it is awesome cause you can see the meteor fall from very far away. By the time you get to it there are bodies everywhere....its hilarious.

Should be noted that it would've gone a little better had you used a fire based weapon. For example the GS Rathalos Glintsword would be ideal for this fight if you run it with an affinity build.

this monster was a hell of a fight, one of my friends who had already fought it said it was stupid hard. i expected as much, but it was still a Kirin and i am somewhat an expert at fighting them. so i took favorite Kirin-killing Uragaan hammer and went to town on it. i beat it first try with 1 KO. it was a hard fight indeed, but i know its moves too well. Arch Vaal has a bunch more bs going on like altered territory behavior, making him much harder to fight.
