Her whole ever since she was 2 years old, her mom died and it felt like her family wasn't complete. But then Rachel appeared, and it felt nice having someone like a mom around, and it's make her happy to see her dad happy. They then close the door in front of them. We then hear the narrator explained after a few months, Rachel's new boyfriend proposed to her, and Rachel said yes. They ended getting married (with Hailey being both Rachel's maid of hono) after she ended up being pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl. While things going uphill for Rachel, things were going downhill for Ella. After being heartbroken again, Ella's dad went to super depression that he ended up drinking and even doing drugs. To the point that he smack Ella around for ruining his life. He ended being arrested, and Ella ended being placed in foster care, and have to live in the guilt that she ruin her family because of her insecurity and jealousy.

As a person who has had stepparents in his life, I'm going to take a more empathetic approach. Children are scared of stepparents because of an authority thing. When your mom or dad had a new lover in their lives, you as a child are going to think, "That means I'm going to have a stranger in my life who is going to assume the role as authority in my life and start bossing me around, giving me punishments and eating all of our food out of the refrigerator, but will then be awarded with my mom/dad's affection! Who does he/she think they are?". I think that's why many adults aren't willing to play stepparent either because this is what they are worried about. Personally, i think single parents need to be with single parents. Don't just go in and start raising someone else's kids without experience. But if you are planning to be a stepparent, I think its your responsibility to let the stepchild know that you are not here to replace the deceased parent. You're just trying to be their friend. There is no malicious intent. But anyhoo, I'm glad the story ended on a good note.
