Hey guys good episode! I think what caused confusion is what words are bold or not. A word is made bold in a special rule if and only if it refers to a keyword (page 18). An example of a non keyword would be the khans army bonus that affects Khandish horseman and khandish chariots, not in bold. Therefore the Mahad army bonus effects half-trolls.

The rulebook states that anything in bold refers to keywords in the profile. In the Far Harad army bonus it says Warrior in addition to Mahud rather than just Mahud as only Warriors are meant to benefit from the rule. You have other instances of army bonuses that target specific profiles (e.g. Isengard) and in these instances the names of the profiles are written not in bold, so one can extrapolate from this that if they intended for just the Mahud Warrior profile to benefit they would have done this the same way. On a seperate note, the uruk profile is not only appropriately costed but perfectly sufficient. A man is 5pts, +1 F for 1 pt, +1 S for 1 pt and heavy armour for +2 pts and we arrive at the uruk. Any rule on top of this would then make the profile undercosted. If the uruk feels underwhelming it's more to do with the proliferation of F5 and other boons in the new edition and supplements without accounting for it in cost or underaccounting for it. However calling for uruk profile to be boosted because of this would lead to a slippery slope where a game that has been stable for nearly a quarter of a century becomes a sloppy power spiral like 40k. One of the appeals of this game I believe is said stability and balance, and getting rid of that for the sake of a few slightly overtuned units and armies would in the long run be disastrous to the game. Truthfully the solution would be to tone down the few profiles that give cause to this call for a power creep. A classic example is the black num. A human is 5pts, +1 F for 1pt, +1 C for 1 pt, 1pt for the shield and 2pts for heavy armour and we can see that even without terror the profile is undercosted by a point. The correct adjustment would be to probably bump up black nums to 11pts, maybe 10pts if you argue that +1 C should only be weighted at half a point and that Terror is maybe worth a similar amount as it does not always have an impact as I have heard some do. Regardless as a community we have to be wary of demanding buffs, and so far the design team have generally been sensible in toning things down in FAQs. Still dont know how the Dragon Emperor dodged the last round of adjustments but thats neither here nor there.

My reading of Mahud Warrior is that the words in bold are both keywords and the army rule only affects models with both the mahud and the warrior keywords. warrior is in bold which means warrior is also a keyword

The way TOs have ruled prior is Mahûd Warrior keyword has to be present in the unit's description. Raiders and Half Trolls have Mahûd and Warrior Keywords

Angmar is a lemon faction! It works incredibly well at 400-500 points because at this level armies like double caster and terror are a bit less common, allowing combos like Burdur + Shade and barrow wight spam to be much more powerful as counters like WK sully, black riders ll and vanquishers, I've found, just don't work as well that low.

I think far Harad is top of silly nervous as it has probably the best hero option in thr game. The harad king is absolutely busted. For like 90 points you get an s5 3attacks camel mounted hero with a war spear that, as it is not a named hero, you can take multiple of. And he provides a 6" fearless bubble. He is an amazing ally with mordor, serpent hoard or even easterlings just because he adds so much hitting power!

Thanks mate! Sure it definitely loses a lot - having the D6 spam at F5 with the banner from the Emperor is still a decent place to be!

Why? In my option easterlings with the legion is a bit overpowered, without it they are fair. Still very good but not that crasy. You only have to upgrade like 10-12 Easterlings to black dagons for the Fight 5. That is like 24p. With the F5 the 2 points for the Upgrade is good.
