Yeah I have heard of many bad foster parents out there that are in it just for the money, although I do know of one obviously good foster home that did exist in my school district since I had not only known individuals that had lived there, they even offered to let one stay for his senior year of high school after he turned 18 even though they were no longer getting money from the state for him (but he didn't accept the offer as far as I recall, but still I am like it was good they offered this to him in spite of no longer getting money from him).

my birth mom gave me up. Child abuse was so well hidden in my adopted home that nobody suspected the Dr. and his social worker wife of child abuse, no it was the "bad child's fault". Sent to another foster home, was treated just like that girl, do all the cleaning(also took care of a baby) and expected to be perfectly behaved. Beaten for losing 1 shoe in a muddy hole, couldn't find it. Only had funds for 1 pair of shoes a year. Child abuse is everyone's business, but everyone ignored the signs. I started running away at age 14, and now at age 76 that little skit has me in tears. The pain never leaves...
