When showing off goes wrong!!🙈 Jeff you're not a terrible bike reviewer... Everyone who reviews bikes are just giving their opinion. There are way too many factors like you said. All reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt. It seems to me people just want someone to confirm their preconceived notions of a bike.
@JeffKendallWeed3 жыл бұрын
DUDE! People TOTALLY want to confirm their beliefs! So many folks ask me what I think of XYZ. I give them an honest answer that I'm not totally stoked on XYZ for whatever reason, then they get so bummed- turns out they already have XYZ in the garage. Doh!!!

I'd say you reviewed the Occam rather well. I have been enjoying the heck out of the M10 this year. Lightweight, poppy trail bike summed it up well!
@Wabit013 жыл бұрын
I disagree - you are an excellent bike reviewer. I don’t buy new bikes often but this year it was time for something new, so I did a ton of reading reviews and found it striking how different sources would use the same language for describing certain bike models. Evil bike reviews particularly suffer from this, to a point where I began to wonder if some reviewers had even tested the bike and I would say this is perhaps the most honest review of the Evil Offering I've come across. What I enjoy about your review style is your ability to cut through the marketing babble and deliver some honest thoughts. Even as far as showing a crash, which some might think would put the bike in a bad light - but of course it doesn’t because as you say ‘rider input matters more than bike design’. Thanks so much mate, its always a beauty watching you ride.

Hey, that's my bike! (and it isn't green or black. Its charcoal gray 😉) Great review! I went the opposite way with the rebound. This is my 3rd Evil and I've always run the rear pretty fast. With the V2, my rear tire was skipping a lot, bouncing in rocky corners (AZ) and easily getting knocked off line. Speeding up the rebound seemed to make it worse, so I settled on 2 clicks from slow. Seems to have solved my problem without affecting the playfulness. I'm running the Super Deluxe with the MegNeg can, so it isn't apples to apples, and I've recently lost weight, so that might play a factor in why my adjustments needed to change 🤷♂️

You don't think I had to wait for the frame? Haha- I did indeed. And it's the first full suspension frame I've purchased since 2004, so that's saying something too. The Super Deluxe that was on my Mojo 4 felt fine. I did prefer the DPX2 still though. I'd like to get the geometry tweaked with an angleset, as the steep head angle was a lot more noticeable to me than the rear suspension. Heck, I basically made it a shorter travel bike by going heavy on sag just to fix that steep head angle.
