Nightshade's notes: Holy heck, did I go all out on this one. Omg. This is probably the most effort I've ever put into sfx and vfx, and that's saying a lot, because I tend to get carried away already. This one, though... I really pushed it to the limits and then some. Can I still call it an audio when there's so much animation in it?
I blame Timeraft. Which is not fair, because they had no idea I was doing any of it until it was nearly done, but still. If they hadn't written such a funny, engaging script, I never would have been tempted.
I really wanted to capture that cheesy retro sci-fi space opera vibe. When the ships arrived, I wanted you to almost see the strings they were hanging from. We're talking high production value on my end for a deliberately low production value look. It's either going to be really awesome or absolutely terrible, and I'm very sorry to all of you if it's the latter. 😁
And then the music! Seven different songs, why do I do this to myself??? Oh right, because I had a vision and I really, really wanted it to succeed!

Nightshade, i know you're proud of all the animation, but you should also be immensely proud of the sound design! The way the back groundmusic changes right on que and fits the tone perfectly, or all of the various Sci-fi sound effects that you cut into, ect. You editied this extremely well and the experience for us the listener is better for it. Thank you for all the effort, and you're killing it as always

Thank you! And I am proud of it! I know I mentioned sfx in the description, too, but in the comments the visuals seem to get the most attention, probably because we just aren't used to getting so many visuals in an... audio. Um. But yes, there were seven different songs edited into the soundscape, and it took me a very long time first to even listen to so many options and then choose the ones that fit, then to remix them to the best length, set the timing just right... and then timing the various sound effects, like the beep beep boop of the IT slave still trying to connect breaking through her monologue at the beginning and end... There are probably a lot of elements that not everyone notices, but I'm still very happy with myself for putting in so much effort, and I'm pleased with the results. Thank you for noticing and pointing it out! It makes me very happy!

Timeraft often sticks references to multiple things in their scripts. Most of which I don't catch until I start seeing them brought up in the comments. The only thing I know is that this is overall a parody of the Flash Gordon style of space opera. I caught certain references to things from some of Timeraft's own lore -- the Void Psyrens, the Mutroids, those are mentioned in the Clairvoyant Space Cowgirl and the Post-Apocalyptic Mutant audios, I believe. The rest? I just wait for you guys to point them out to me. XD

So, I recently bit the bullet and bought a year's subscription for Envato Elements stock assets. I did it for the sound effects, but it also gives you access to stock images, music, videos... the portal here was a video asset that I licensed through my subscription, as was the corridor in the opening and the portal with the spaceship hurtling through it. And I don't know if anyone noticed them, but there are also some subtle lens flares that I used as an overlay to make the static parts of the audio feel slightly less... static. And give it a bit more of a sci-fi spaceship feel. Very subtly. Lol.

Yeah, there is no way I that can take this audio seriously, which means that you have succeeded. Also, my words turned out to be a little more aggressive than I intended. Please keep in mind that, while this audio is definitely not what I enjoy, and my words are an attempt to poke fun at the audio, my care for and respect towards you are unchanged. Those 10 trillion years (I checked) are probably the result of her absolute derangement. And that cliché of the villain calling themselves evil is not one that I had ever liked. However, your version actually made me smile in between cringing sessions.

Babylon Onassis, I think, is a bit like Bloodshadow of the Edgy Antihero audio. She's just a complete and total dork trying very hard to be something else. Timeraft said to me, before hearing the audio, that they think she's probably got all her followers not because she's strong but because she's charismatic. I replied that I think my version of her has all the bad guys going, "how cute, she thinks she's badass... aw sure, why not, let's help her out." She's a dork to the point where I seriously wonder if she's actually ever hurt anyone, or if it's all a show she puts on. I mean, look at how easily a fajita bar turns her away from world dominion. And I think, when you realize that, she becomes a lot more palatable. Because lots and lots of us are putting on an act, trying to be tougher, cooler, badder than we really are. You know? That's what I like about Babylon Onassis.

It is entirely in the hands of the author, I'm afraid. The last time I talked to them, MrBlueWriter gave an indication that another sequel was possible, but that was quite a while ago, and they don't seem to be currently active online. So I'm sorry to say that I just don't know! I would love to continue it, but at the moment, it's out of my hands. If a sequel script does come out, though, I can assure you that I'll be all over it!
