That last bit is valuable. We might think we want an expert to tell us what to do in a given situation, but often what we really need is a fundamental understanding. That way we are more likely to make effective decisions without the expert. This seems to be a universal experience between many disciplines, not just recording. Thanks for the video, Mario. Cheers!

"This seems to be a universal experience between many disciplines". Yes 100% sir. I try to keep this mindset where ever my endeavors lead me. Cheers.

Thank you so much Mario, you made me learn a lot this time!!! You got the clarity of a Neumann's microphone! I have the great luck that my father was a teacher in physical sciences, and learned me some basics, but the way you explain things seems very clear to me!!!

Mario, there's a lot of stuff you mentioned in here that's really good. With polar patterns, you can also use their blind spots to your advantage and get minimal bleed between sources. It's also something that becomes pretty obvious that someone either knows or they don't when talking to most hobbyist engineers. As you said, it can definitely affect the end product. Even in mixing it can be pretty obvious who knows this stuff and who doesn't.

спасибо Mario! i think i would be incapable of watching a video of this length on such a topic if not for you keeping it interesting lol.

Very happy to hear that. I often fear these long videos should be cut down to half the length. It's so hard to cut out information though.

Since we’re friends, I’ll even watch your videos containing things I already know. Well done, by the way. 👍🏼 Now… I’m still waiting for a Loving video about your Acrolite, as you stated you could do a complete one on just it alone. Being the proud owner of my own… as well as the black sparkly version… and even a Supraphonic. Chuckiedoodles is waiting with excitement for that, as well as one on your kick pedal. Just kind requests, mind you.🤞🏼Aaaaaaand ideas for content.🤔 I do understand one, “Can’t Always Get What They Want”,.. but if I try some time… … … Ha Ha… yeah, I did dat. ✨Respectfully, Your Fan and Friend in California✨

I have always wanted to try out a Supraphonic! It's the bonham machine! Which do you prefer? Or are they different beasts from themselves?
@BadChizzle10 ай бұрын
@@Mario_DiSanto Let’s just say, I wouldn’t break up with any one of em. But… I think they have a lot in common. Like tuning range, to mention an important aspect. Supraphonic is a little more open sounding if you want it to be. Wish I could drum like you, I’d know them way better than I do.

Multi-use. Some microphones it acts like a HPF to filter out unnecessary frequencies for a track.

From Fishman: The Loudbox Artist and Loudbox Performer use a 24v high current phantom power supply standard that allows users to operate condenser microphones and other devices requiring phantom power without issue. In many cases, the high current standard provides increased power and stability than 48v sources.
@AldeanLeger10 ай бұрын
It looks like most modern condenser mics will operate in a range of 9-52V
