Blake Griffin’s evolution has been impressive. He was more physically ready for the rigors of the NBA because he was forced to miss his rookie year. That allowed him to get his body right and he announced his arrival with authority. His aerial assault on the rims of the NBA, and the big men protecting them, were forceful, but he was just a dunker then. He had a jumper, but it was a bit wonky. He could handle especially well for a big man, but his decision making wasn’t on par yet. Slowly, however, he was improving every facet of his game. It was in the 2013-2014 season that it finally all clicked. Chris Paul went down, and Doc Rivers turned Blake loose on the league. Power guard (that’s a Bill Simmons term right there), point forward, whatever you want to call him, he was freaking effective. Any time you finish behind only Kevin Durant and LeBron James means you’re pretty damn good.
This season, Chris Paul was healthy throughout (playing all 82 games) but Blake had already established himself as the best playmaker on the team after CP, and he was allowed to flourish more in that role. The world saw what he could do once again when Paul was out for a few games in the Conference Semifinals. Certain possessions, he did it all. He banged with Dwight Howard in the post, boxed out, skied for a board, push the ball on the break, and either finished, or created a play for his teammates.
In the last video, Blake’s passing and handles were heavily featured, but this time around, the focus is on him being more efficient. He’s not working on his And1 mixtape, but he is using his ball handling to create openings. He might still have moments where he tries to show out, but that’s perfectly natural. What has impressed is how he has reined it in to not just become a productive player, but possibly one of the premier playmakers in the NBA.
These clips are all from the 2014-2015 season, and focuses on his scoring, but a passing reel will eventually be on my page. You can find the other Blake video right here:

IMO the most skilled PF in the nba.I love AD and Aldridge but neither of them are great passers or as versatile on offense as Griffin. This dude dribbled like a GUARD!And hes only 25!

+Miltonman100 to bad that Ad gets 25 points on offense and averages more rebounds and gets more blocks he does it on both ends instead of blake who by the way is my 3rd favorite player in the league behind steph and obj

this guy shooting threes is just scary the clippers should just give him the green light and let him take however many shots he wants because he's literally unguardable and could average 40

I dont think griffins defense is that bad.Hes not an elite defender but he has short arms thats why he doesnt block many shots. And DeAndre Jordan eats up most of their rebounds so Griffin cant always get those crazy rebounding #s

Brand .Flakes He doesnt need to work on getting rebounds.....He just has low numbers for rebounds because DJ has taken most of the responsibility. DJ can get them quicker due to his height, longer arms, and athleticism and that helps so Clipps can get on a fast break and its usually with Blake leading the charge.

Brand .Flakes Blake is actually not a bad low post defender. His team defense is mediocre as he's slow on rotations, hedges too hgh etc. But he's a better defender than people think. As for rebounds, him and DJ both averaged 12.7rpg in the playoffs. He can rebound when he commits to it.

He's 6'10 with a 40 inch vertical. There's no excuse for averaging less than 10 rebounds a game while playing 36+ minutes.

This is how blake needs to be used as a point forward. He can create shots for himself and others, history shows his numbers are better when he has the ball most of the time.

This shows you how much the talent of the league has evolved. You now have PF's like Draymond Green,Blake Griffin,Josh Smith(Still dont trust him),That can dribble down the court like guards and hit threes like Guards. The amount of talent the league has today is amazing man.

All Hail The King ANybody with any sort of basketball knowledge knows that the NBA today is far more advanced and talented than it was in the 90's.The defense was a complete joke. You couldnt hedge on Screens, you couldnt shadow scorers, you could play 2-3,3-2,1-3-1 etc.NBA was a complete joke. You had a ton of players flood the league straight out of highschool latching onto lottery teams that had no fundamentals and couldnt dribble with their off hand.NBA has cleaned up alot of stuff.Players now are more NBA ready opposed to guys comming out of highschool at 18 years old.You now have to play atleas ta year in college or a year overseas so that deepens the talent pool of the nba.Bigs were a joke on defense until Hakeem hit his prime. You rarely had bigs that could step out and defend guards on switches.Todays game has much more ball movement, spacing, better defense..I could go on and on but you know the point im trying to make lmao

I would rather him work on his post game instead of dribbling. You have the best pure PG in the league, let him dribble.Clips need a 3 n D SF with a griffin who can score at will in the post and that's pretty much GG to the league cause they'll win a chip that same year.
