Actually a brilliant idea. I almost settled on buying it but I didn't want to do without the direct 10A measurement and more importantly the more electronics-aligned measurements such as micro-amps and peak capture (I've had a Fluke 87 for decades). But I will certainly recommend this to people in the electrical field, and for vessel engineers it's excellent.

Nice to see a review on the 1587 mate, hardly any on KZbin! Keep up the great reviews!

Havent seen many reviews of those insulation/multimeters. Thinking about getting the Brymen bm885 or bm877. Any chance you are going to do a review of those?

Hello, I’m looking at this currently for electrical installation applications, any reason you’d suggest me to go with this over the brymen 887 asides the current clamp option available with the fluke? Brymen have now released an 878 just an update of the 887 I believe? Thanks

Very cool meter. Although it’s a shame it’s not compatible with the iflex current probe.

Is it dangerous to touch the probs when it is on insulation testing mode? Ex - at 1000 V

You'll definitely feel that 1000v, but nothing deadly
