@@RaptureMusicOfficial That is the demo version, we have changed some patterns to make it fit the demo better. The original is a 14 channel .XM mod and sounds somewhat diffrent. Read the .NFO file for more information. :)
@dhedberg3 жыл бұрын
@@RaptureMusicOfficial Please note that the MP2 was resampled for the Atari Falcon030's built-in 49.170kHz clock. The Falcon030 does not have a standard 44kHz or 48kHz clock. If you attempt to load this MP2 into a standard player on any other computer it will be replayed at 48kHz (too slow)!

What ?! no portage on Amiga ;-)
@olssonan4 жыл бұрын
We actually discussed it, converting to standard Amiga 1200, but there are some differences that would require some thinking (2mb instead of 4; sound would have to be some type of sample etc). And in the end, after spending all that time, we couldn't compete with it... So we decided that it's better to produce something new rather then spending time on a conversion. So, most likely its not gonna happen, but never say never. :)

@@ixion8666 I use Sublime Text (text editor) and vasm (cross-assembler with a Devpac compatible mode) on a PC, but I almost always run the produced executable on real hardware (CosmosEx and/or PARCP-USB make this easy and convenient). I have nothing against Devpac, I used it for many years during the 90's, but today, after gotten used to powerful text editors such as Sublime Text, it's hard to go back.

The polygon edges are traced using the CPU, but the Blitter is doing all the filling for 1 bitplane polygons. For polygons using more than 1 bitplane the CPU is doing the filling as it's faster.

I think that A1200 with MC68020 can do it ))) Amiga rulez!
@olssonan2 жыл бұрын
This is somewhat true. You have to make some changes in a few areas. Like sound quality and the memory situation, unless you go out of "old scool" specs. This demo needs around 3.5mb of ST-Ram (think Chipmem), the "standard" Atari Falcon setup was 4mb ST-Ram and could be expanded to 14mb. The main tune music is a 14-channel XM module that is converted into a mp2 file and then streamed from the disk. Without the capability of the DSP the Amiga would struggle to do this, atleast at the same quality and memory. We thought about converting this demo to the "standard" A1200 but decided it's more interesting to produce something new instead. Oh and both platforms rule!. :)
