The EVM system has three major units, out of which the main part is the control unit, the second is VVPAT and the third is the ballot unit. Votes are recorded in the control unit. The ballot unit contains the names of the candidates and VVPAT works as a printer.The ballot unit contains the names of 16 candidates including NOTA. 24 ballot units can be attached to the control unit at one time. 2000 votes can be registered in the control unit but 1500 slips can be printed at a time by VVPAT.
