@@Azura2910arpgyou know what he means, and he’s right too. When punk plays at his best, he’s untouchable. But he gets nervous in these situations and let’s himself down. If the cameras weren’t rolling and the stakes weren’t high he’d do significantly better than he does. Of course the cameras are rolling and the stakes are high, so it is what it is, but skill for skill, he’s clearly the best in the world. He’s just yet to deliver on the biggest stage

True. Punk just can't close the deal on the biggest stage - he choked 2017 against Tokido, he choked again against Idom 2019 and now after 2-0 lead against Mena. I think he will never win Capcom Cup or Evo. Just doesn't have IT on the biggest stage.

If you look closely, after the 2-0 lead, Mena started pulling more of upward ball crossup, risky empty jump, and some other nasty stuffs, Punk just couldn't adapt to it fast enough.

@@LEWfromdaHOU It might eventually. I mean Laura and Poison(on release) were considered the lowest tiers and Idom won with both of them. Even the commentators were acknolieding that he won with low tiers. Then Idom became the only Laura in the world who was good enough with her to win tournaments. Just like Infiltration did the same with taking EVO Japan with Juri another low tier. Or another player with Sakura. Some examples of players making the low tiers work for them and winning. Its possible to see other characters win. Just need to let more time pass. The game is only a month old. I hope to see other characters.

Personally I don't think they should allow Mena to check his phone between matches. People are saying he's being coached on WhatsApp, which EVO allows for 30 seconds max. But now it's no longer a one on one match. It's pretty disrespectful, but also kills the entire flow of the matches. So if one player is on a high and riding the momentum, he would stall and get coached. A) to calm him down, and B) to kill the opponents high. Plus to get advice from other pros on the matchup. I think it's totally unfair when his opponent is sitting there fighting their inner demons.
