EVO 2k3 CvS2 Daigo vs INO Grand Finals

This match was really epic because although people knew how good Ino and Bas would be (along with Mago's RC brutishness), not many people expected Daigo to be so aggressive with C groove. He delivered some pretty awesome moments during this Evo but made a few too many risky reads against Ino, and lost. 2k3 was awesome in general, great lineup and finals, save for T4 (which every1 seems to hate) and MvC2 because Rowtron lost 2 Ricky and there was no Wong rematch. There's your history lesson.

One of Daigo's greater strengths is how he can get his opponents upset and angry so to make them haste about a get-back after they received a beat up by him thus leading them to attack carelessly and to even bigger mistakes and even more punishment. Finest example: 1st battle final round with INO's Sagat.

Best fighting game ever made. Great character list. Playing against roll canceling was fun and brought everyone's level up. And you actually had to be good at links. After playing this for so many years, then playing SF4 and SF5, I can't believe how easy it is for kids to connect combos.

@gunboss201 Each character has 2 pics. One when a Capcom Groove is used, the other when an SNK Groove is used. Diago used a Capcom Groove, so he got one picture and Ino used an SNK Groove, so he got a different picture.

Its because in every game that the characters that are high tier have been in, they were high tier in those games. Sagat remains the most domineering, Ken is always up there, Guile is always high mid, Cammy, BLANKA. SNK has high middle tier characters like hibiki, iori, rock, geese, chang, and have 1 high tier character that is kyo. But all the SNK characters are matchup specific, but those specific matchups aren't against the capcom top tiers.

if you watch more recent 2009 matches, more characters like Vice, Chang, Iori, Rock, and Geese are being used. I saw a match where some guy 16 hit combod an akuma with geese, his name is GAO.

@kiatory Parrying: Tapping forward when an opponent's move it just touching you, stalling their hit. Just Defending: Tapping Backward when an opponent's move it just touching you gaining a sliver of life on each hit. I know in 3S the stall from a parry is much longer, in CVS2 Just defending is not only safer, but gives you life back as well.

The sprite was tall as fuck and pixelated as fuck, couldn't even fix it up slightly. Everything else was fine. Even if the shogun characters were a bit choppy. Stop having nostalgia cloud your judgement, 'bitch'.

EO had the really silly addition of the macro system which made some characters broken, and they also allowed p groove to super cancel from specials which was also broken. Roll Cancelling was an unexpected glitch but it did add to the game and actually balance it more, but yea some characters like Bison, Blanka, were mad strong. There were no patches back then.

@Number1ricky honestly, i think it was just random chance combined with bad balancing decisions on capcom's part. SNK characters were top in CvS1, and when capcom buffed their guys they over did it and when they nerfed SNK guys they over did that as well. i dont think they were out to make SNK look bad or have a dislike for the characters.

Unfortunately, much like 3s Online, the only people who would keep playing it after week 1 are the people who played it originally in the arcades and a select few new players who actually want to learn it. All of the SF4 mashers will quit with a quickness.

Honestly, Capcom doesn't like SNK much. So the characters of SNK are lower tiers for the most part and the Capcom are usually pretty powerful. My opinion.

before anyone asks why EO, look at 3:54. no more cheating and making the makers of the game apologize over and over. xP and Sagat get's a strength nerf. and Cammy's less punishable when she screws up canon spike, but at least it no longer has MORE priority/invincibility compared to a shoryuken done by the actual shotos. :/

I had never seen these matches, only heard about them, but watching these now it's apparent Daigo actually outplayed INO. He just had a bit of bad luck/made a few ill-advised decisions. It didn't hurt that INO had K-groove the groove that awarded you for losing. SF4 Ultras eat your heart out. EDIT: From the looks of it, Daigo was coming from losers also.

after playing this game for so long and went to sf4, i did not like it. i would rather play 5 because there are links and no fadc stuff. what i liked about this game was the punishes. it forced you to be a better player. if you made a mistake, sagat and others can take more than half your life. i wish it did not have roll cancelling glitch though. it kind of ruined the neutral game. hard to poke or do much against rc electric or magos rc hand slap.
