@pl4125 жыл бұрын
@@Siberianhusky89 what did you find boring about it? Never played xxac so I can't compare
@Siberianhusky895 жыл бұрын
@@pl412 Well, in XXAC, people did a lot of different things. You'd see many new things. Landing a lot of different moves together. Usually the combos were shorter and sweeter, plus tbh, Guilty Gear wasn't much of an anime fighter. It was a lot more gritty and had some establishment between being an anime fighter and a game like Street Fighter. Getting individual hits could be a lot bigger of a deal than they are now and setups were a lot more useful. They would do things that they wouldn't have learned in practice mode, but just did on the spot. Even then, the combos were generally short but very, very, very sweet. As if watching a new episode of your favorite anime. It Xrd, it's a lot of the same strategy. YRC before you attack, hit confirm in a lot of the same ways and do the same old combos. When you see Kum, how often do you see that thing where he does his DP kick after an enemy bounces off the wall, over and over again? That would have never happened in AC and if it did, you would see it rarely. But it's a repeated strategy, just like Elphelt's shotgun spam combos in the corner or Sin's beak driver spam in the air. Now it's just a game of "Who's gonna win?! Who got the hit confirm?!" rather than the stylish combinations of moves you'd see before. Everything became super practical and as if practiced over and over again in training mode. Yeah, there would be some strategies you'd repeat in XXAC, but if you did it would leave you in a bad spot alot of the time. Spamming one move over and over had consequence if the opponent caught on. Even the damage scaling on this game has diminished and a lot of the strategy is "Before I throw myself at the opponent, let me just spend 25% meter to slow down time for them, eat their button inputs (which is a retarded thing period in any fighter) and become invincible for a split second." How is that cool? Everyone speaks about how balanced Xrd is, but it's a lie. The characters are very, very unbalanced and the only thing balancing them are both practice and the mechanics in the game. I could play some of the shittiest characters in XXAC and still at least have good neutral gain because the characters themselves had a lot of love put into them. XXAC had it's share of bullshit, but at least it wasn't the as consistent as the bullshit you see defended in Xrd. Here, if you really want to see the difference, type in "Limekey Guilty Gear" and check out the channel "Behindthefreezr". You'll see some of the most entertaining matches of your life.

the only thing that's keeping me from this game is the uncool characters and messy UI. the graphics are beautiful but the design is so uninteresting. even right down to the font. I wish arc focused on creating a new game with some cool characters like street fighter (who is messing up hardcore with their characters) or KOF. Sol Badguy? looks like a generic character I'd draw in middle school.
@peeenguinne38585 жыл бұрын
@@moodymoral no hate imtended but I think most of the KOF character's fight barehanded. And i think that's kind of a bummer. SF too. I think what's good about these guilty gear characters are their uniqueness in terms of combat prowess and lores. May seems like the generic loli that uses hammer but instead she use anchor and summons dolphins as an attack. Elphelt seems like the thicc and cutesy lady that uses guns as a weapon but she also uses flowers incapcitate opponents. Johnny is the generic cassanova character who thinks he's really handsome but to think he uses coins to attack. Ky kiske is a swordsman almost all fighting games had but to think he's much stronger lore-wise than sol badguy, which is the protagonist, himself. Baiken is the swordswoman but to think she doesn't like the femininity of a classic japanese swordwoman should have been. This is what's keeping me in this game. Plus, I like anime.
@moodymoral5 жыл бұрын
@@peeenguinne3858 The lack of lore is exactly why I don't like Guilty Gear. It all feels so slapped on and I don't feel the connection between any of them. I also like anime, but this feels like bottom-of-the barrel, crappy anime. I can understand about the weapons, but this game doesn't scratch that itch for me. It would be nice to have an all-new game with well-written and some what relatable characters.
