I have 6 DJI drones, my favorites are my AIR 3, Mini 4 Pro & my FPV Drone. I love DJI. After seeing the awesome sale Autel has going, I ordered a Evo Lite Plus Premium Bundle for $839 shipped. I couldn't resist that price. Im studying for my part 107 & plan on starting a drone photography side business. Hopefully it's somewhat on par, with my DJI drones.

Very timely review, Kelly. I bought the Lite + (bundle) last week at the sale price of $1479, which, for me, is $21 under what I will pay for ANY drone. It's due to be delivered tomorrow. Christmas in July! I have been looking at videos of the drone since last week and almost all of them were from 4-5 months ago. Pre-firmware updates. Was not aware of the captured audio feature. Could come in handy. Also, on the "cons"...this ain't DJI. I almost expect those sort of weaknesses from Autel. (I had the Evo 1 a while back) One more con that I would add is the inability to mount a tablet without major mods to the RC. Back when I fly the Evo 1, I used the Lifthor mount. It worked, but it was way too cumbersome. Especially loved the shots at 4:50 and 5:53 showing the wind in which the drone was flying sideways in.

Thanks a ton! The date/time was a mistake actually. The Autel software has an option to include that or not. I don't think it's a bad thing, but it was more of a "happy accident" than anything else.

Also Ive noticed some white dead pixels on the video Ive watched when taking night footage. Any way to reset those dead pixels or does it do it automatically when turning on the drone?

I still have my Autel X-Star Premium but haven't flown it since I got my DJI Mavic Air 2. The X Star is a great drone but started having video issues with it where it will get pixelated pretty bad. Ever since I had that drone, I've only had 1 firmware update. Overall, Autel is a great company & have come a long way. Excellent review & footage Kelly!! 😊

I haven't seen many reviews on this drone, even though it's been out since the beginning of the year. Everyone always review the Nano Plus from Autel. So I knew a little about this drone, and since they have two versions it getting confusing which one has certain features. But you really did a through review, and now I have much better understanding of what this drones brings to the table. I'm a Autel EVO 2 Pro owner so I have some experience with Autel products and I have very impressed with it especially the camera. It seems like a great drone, I like the fact that is has an adjustable aperture. Put is does seems a like pricy, and for another $400 I could get the Mavic 3. Great review Kelly, and thanks for sharing.

Great review. Vertical mode is only available on the Lite (not the Lite+). The Lite has a 4 axis gimbal, the Lite+ has a 3 axis gimbal.

Hi nice review. Glad you included the gimbal issue with Lite plus. Always use a pad or stick to hard surfaces. Had a Evo Lite Plus since Feb 22. Had to return once to Autel. Flies very solid. It even looks like a flying orange brick.

Evo lite + I got excellent response, I call and actually I talked to a person the only two time I call. I have had no problems with my, it is excellent quality, very professional, The night Video camera aperture gives you amazing Videos I got my in July and It's been a great surprise to see the quality and workmanship put into this unit. Your review is great, the comments, I didn't get the one in the bag got mine on a hard case with four batteries and a place for everything, so I got no bad reviews. Than you

So, I've had my eye on these since release. First with a lot of skepticism 🤨 having had a mixed bag with my Evo 2 Pro V2 & V2 Smart Controller. It was great, but customer support went to hell after the Lite and Nano series Covid and who knows what else. My Dual Band V2 and $1200 Smart Controller got horrible signal, camera was extraordinary, firmware issues were myriad. That said, and having sold it, I wanted a mid-sizer to fit between my Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3. Do I need another? Hell no with those 2, but get this. I just got that Premium Bundle you have, (in Autel Orange, of course! ) for $1250 brand new. It's $38 % off! So I'll be back in the Autel Fold. This video was very encouraging after a sweaty palm purchase, even at a bargain price. And yes, I expect SOME Autel quirks, but their video is so nice. This camera is the latest rework of the Evo 2 Pro camera (6K, thats not 6K lol) and that's the big draw! Thanks!

My advice to you about some prop guards, is NOT to use them regardless? They tend to bend the props after awhile, then the props become useless. Trust me when I tell you my friend. Stay away from that accessory. I use a hard waterproof type of box for my drones, I have the Mavic Air 2 & the Air 2 S because they're compatible and I also usually take them off anyway, "the propellers." It's easier for me to do that. I hope this helps you decide on those prop guards? Believe me, I don't use them. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍

*They had the EVO Lite plus bundle deal for $1497 on Amazon Prime deals. I was so close to pulling the trigger but the reminded me that I have several drones already. My reply of "so?" fell on deaf ears. The thing that held me back was lack of 10bit color for video. Also a lack of D-Log. It has 10bit for photo. I hear it may be added in a firmware update but not taking a chance on something that base on hearsay. The other issues you brought up are not deal breakers.* 😊 Where's Kris ? He usually has some comedic spin on things.

Hello very nice review Here is my notifications about the Lite + Before 3 weeks I purchased a Evo lite plus Aircraft has a great camera as my Evo II pro.. But...... A) The Gimbal is not stable (has a slightlymovement left and right even the aircraft is at the ground), as a result you often have a photo out of focus( long exposure shoots) & a quite shaky hyperlapse B) Many frequent false alarms of obstacles from both sensors, from the front ones (more) and from the bottoms also , checked 100% that it is not from a reflection or a bird etc. C) It doesn't keep the settings you put in EXP D) The WB (white balance) in all the options that you are obliged to be in Auto because it does not give you the possibility to Pro, it is very sensitive and changes continuously with the result that the video is useless due to the strong appearance in the material and its changes WB. D) In ​​the Quick Shoot option in Orbit, the rotation of the ship is dramatically fast and does not allow you to change the rotation speed, E) Also in the Orbit option again, it doesn't keep the selectable theme you set (it doesn't stay centered i.e. in your initial choice ) F) Ludicrous Mode highest speed is 55km/h ,dramatically low speed relative to the competition, and dangerously slow for high winds. G) Shoot Mode: In the AEB Option used by professionals more, they only have the Auto option in the camera settings... Autel doesnt have No fly zone. Which i like best. Compare to dji NFZ. If a person living near a airport. Is no use at all. Yes. User haa responsibility when flying without NFC. My autel is better theb my dji models

I bought a mavic pro in 2017 flew it quite a bit in several countries even and never really considered battery replacement and to be fair they lasted about 5 years which is actually pretty amazing. But here's where the problem lies I cannot find batteries for this model from DJI or any source that is an oem wholesaler and all of the reviews I read of people that have bought some of the DJI batteries before they were unavailable we're very low rated due to issues evidently quality control went down the hill. So the aftermarket batteries that were supposed to be as good if not better are also very hard to get and extremely expensive in my opinion. I wonder how long how many charging cycles the autel batteries are rated for?

Buy a fpv battery strap to wrap around the the drone to hold the props to keep them from flopping around….I’m interested in seeing how it hold up to the Air2s…there really isn’t very much content on KZbin about the evo lite plus…..I would consider buying it if it stakes up against the mavic 3 or the price would be more like it was during Amazon prime day ….anyway great video

I understand that only the Lite (not the plus version) has the vertical video feature with the sensor rotation. The Sky App is not bad but needs some enhancements bad sicne there has only been one update4 since the Lite and Nano were launched.

You do know by now that Vertical mode is just on the Lite (Lite minus?) With the 4 axis gimbal right? It was the ONLY thing that I considered the non + version for, but I barely use it on Mini 3. Plus this is a superior camera I just about every way.

@readysetdrone If you were to look at Lite/Lite+ on Amazon today, they have the descriptions and features hopelessly mangled, and theses are the ones on "The Autel Store, lol! A closer look reveals why... that "store" is actually Autel automotive stuff, the scanners and the new "Ottofix" subdivision out of Europe. You know, so they can say "a European Company" lke they try to say they are a USA Company with the 11 people they have at the office in Bothell Washington. Alejandro in KZbin commercials saying "proud to be made in the USA" -Cannot BELIEVE how many buy into that. I think they assemble Enterprise kits by unwrapping the components and putting them in the Rugged cases, lol! I actually don't know at all, but they clearly said "assembly, testing, support" at one time. Personally? I'm fine with origin, but they really need to pick a transmission frequency and stick with it. Maybe THEN we could get an RC with a display working on more than single models. 900 mhz, 2.4 ghz, 2.7, 5.2, 5.8. I'm not thrilled using my phone or a front/top heavy Tripltek on Rube Goldberg mount. It's SO 2010'S LOL 😆 Do you agree that even a basic, but well conceived and delivered Remote with a decent, bright display would probably DOUBLE Lite/Nano sales? We KNOW Autel is David to DJI's Goliath, but put down the peashooter and develop a decent slingshot, Autel. Sigh. Anyway thanks again.

Yes, a controller with a built-in display really is the way to go. Autel seems to always get close to DJI, but not quite as good in every area. I'm still rooting for them. We need competition for sure.

The vertical video is for the standard Lite not the plus. Firmware isn’t gonna suddenly make the sensor flip.

Around 30 minutes, plus or minus, is a realistic average, depending on how low you like to fly your batteries.

I have had very bad experience with autel support. I have both the lite plus and the air 3 . the air 3 does a lot more things than the evo. and the transmission is better with the air 3. but the evo does a lot better on the camera side.and for transmission the evo does better around buildings. all and all I do like the evo better. no geo fencing also.

Just updated the firmware on my DJI Phantom 4 Pro v2. I took it out to fly and it got up around 20 feet and then took off in one direction by itself and buried itself into the ground 6 inches from a baby and her mother. No one was injured, but the drone is trash and I will NEVER fly DJI again! I am going top post as much as I can about the dangers of DJI. My life and the life of a baby almost changed forever because of those inept people. I loved DJI for years - but it is clear that their equipment is not safe around people!

The Lite version is not out yet and it will film better videos than the Lite +. Autel made a mistake because the RYYB sensor on the Lite version creates better video definition and it will be the best big drone to film at low light. So far, the Nano+ is by far the best drone on the market for capturing the best footage. No other drone can deliver the dynamic rage, color range and definition than the Nano+ and the not yet out Lite. I ordered my with 4 batteries for 999.99.... bundle premium year later...even if it was half price ...if the footage will be like in his review it WILL BE RETURNed!!! Terrible blue tint!! Horror. Over sharpen, with way to high contrast! I've seen other video with dated three months ago ....and looks promising, tuned more like DJI..that's my only hope... if that IS THE CASE than it'll stay with me.

Yes I know how to use drones I’ve owned 2 inspire 2, mavic pro 2, 3, and a phantom 4. This drone is garbage and very unstable. Get a air 2s second hand you’ll have a way more reliable better overall drone for way less.
