I've had a fleece undersuit, worn under a waterproof-ish oversuit for caving, for many years, and its one of the best garments for this activity I've tried. The Water just falls out of it, and you are kept warm like a wetsuit, but without the embuggerence of getting in and out of one, plus you cam move a lot better too. I've exited many a cave, unzipped the oversuit and steamed like a kettle. A fleece is anything but just a fleece.

100%, that's a great example of a use that's often overlooked too. You forget just how insulating of a layer they really can be. Thanks for a great comment!

Very true Liam, the beauty of fleece, apart from it being made from recycled PET bottles, is that even when drenched the water will fall out of it quickly, and if covered will rapidly heat up and act like a wetsuit.

I do a little leather work, for myself and friends, and I also have summer gloves that I use in the forest and for sure , they need to be waxed! Bingo! And of course, I also have the same leather mat that you use for ignition and yes, of course, it also needs to be waxed and used in the same way!!!
