Coming back from 2018....I really miss the hype of SF4 alas~
@larsattack14 жыл бұрын
@MagicantProductions Also, if you notice at 7:07 Daigo knew he was going to flash kick because one of his fireballs canceled lamerboi's first attempt. Then daigo very slightly backed up out of range and kept firing until he flash kicked again.

incredible fireball zoning by Daigo in the end if anyone saw when Daigo did the third fireball he moved back a little because he knew guile's flash kick range and anticipated it to come out and whiff giving Daigo the punish. Daigo can seriously pull off some clutch plays granted hes probably the most smartest street fighter player to enter the scene by far.

its funny that people think they cant play because of their fireball crash,that was one of the most intresting and intense matches ive seen in a long
@note4note80413 жыл бұрын
Rarely if ever will I say this, but that was a fireball heavy match that actually was enjoyable to watch. Though the 7 to 8 projectile collisions in a row before changing up inputs was tedious at time you could at least see that the gears were turning in the player's heads about when to change things up, and though not as fast paced as a SF3 match, there was clearly some solid mind games being played by Daigo that made this match fun to watch.
@MrHyerty13 жыл бұрын
@supervideogamejunkie it's the invisible dimension you're not looking at: the spacing. Daigo spaced guile really well. Made it so that sonic hurricane barely hit him and made the flash kick barely miss in the end.
@Zeronum214 жыл бұрын
@iplayvidsman Let me clarify something, not all people who play fighting games are sponsored. There are people who play it competitively just for fun if you get what I mean.
@voidofambition14 жыл бұрын
Daigo really is beast... he's so fearless... if I were him at the end of that last round, I would NOT throw fireballs anywhere near the range of Sonic Hurricane. Crazy guy... even in that notorious match he lost against Marn in seasons beatings, Marn's Dudley had a FULL Ultra 1 bar, but Daigo was STILL shooting those fireballs... the fuck is up with this guy.
@AyRookie14 жыл бұрын
At 7:06 he tried to do a flash kick before, so he did that intentionally probably because he thought Daigo was going to jump for some last minute shield pressure.
@PhoenixRisen713 жыл бұрын
@we1n88 I think the colour of the projectiles could change maybe to orange when you only have 5 left and then a sound effect can play on the final one and a different colour (red) for that one. That would be a visual indication, but the number left could be displayed by a bar or indicator on the HUD. I do agree that you need skill to use them, but its not fun playing against a spammer, changes the game from a fight to a shoot out :)

God Damn, Daigo is smart as Hell. At 1:16, that FK isn't random. In SSF4, LK FK has more projectile invincibility, so now, when Shoto's do cr.mk to hadouken, you can FK in between. 1:16 is the FIRST time Lamerboi had a down charge during one of Daigo's block strings, so he tried to FK through the hadouken he thought was going to come. Daigo knew he was going to try to FK and just threw out only the cr.mk That's a mix of precise character knowledge AND reading someone really well.

@Pheenak that wasnt a rush, lamerboi wanted to flashkick really bad for some reason at the last 10 sec when he was cornered. i dont know why though. first one it got stuffed and it didnt come out and then 2nd one was the one that whiffed. i really wonder what he was thinking at the time, and what his reason might be for such a desperate flashkick. and too bad he didnt make top 8. wonder why he lost to henry cen
@Antlion66613 жыл бұрын
@MyselfGrilo Watch from 3:10 on. Just from what I see. Lamerboi kept pushing forward and using his knee dash thing. Daigo would dash forward every so often after a fire ball, because he knew that he was two dashes away from being able to SRK a jump in.

@BlackLionFilms daigo used it as a tactic. it was said at the beginning of the match. guile builds up meter fast so it's only logical for lamerboi to spam sonic booms. if daigo wasnt spamming, he would only have to take chip and avoid all the sonic booms, risking getting hit. why would he take that risk if he can just block those with hadoukens?

@iamfoob you dont need any tools if you can "read the opponent" like you said. if hes crossing over, you gaurd correctly, if he tick throws you tech. every character can deal with wake up pressure. they can gaurd and they can tech. technically, if you do both of those perfectly (again "reading the opponent" like you said) than you have all the tools to handle their pressure i dont get why you said "if ryu reads the opponent hes unstoppable!zomg!"any character is a monster if they read correctly

People find this match boring because all they see is a fireball war, but the projectiles are only a small aspect of the game. It would be like watching a boxing match and claiming it boring because all they do is throw punches. There's technique behind those punches. It's easy to look with your eyes, but to see with your mind...

Lot of potential from lamerboi, if it wasn't for the big stage semi-final jetters, I honestly think that in that match and at his level of play he was the better player. I also think that if daigo stayed with ryu after potentially loosing that first game he would have been booted to the loosers bracket. In case you didn't notice the robot showed an uncharactoristic amount of emotion during that bout. Not to say lamerboi is better than diago overall, but THAT match he could have been.

@CarlosDXG13 жыл бұрын
@fasterthansound101 Why shouldn't you practice how to avoid them? That's just like practicing how to block crossups, practicing to link combos, etc. But nevertheless, what is going on in this match isn't actually spamming, it's zoning and throwing a projectile DOES have risks. Both players realize this. Observe 4:06 in which Guile throws a sonic boom at too close of a range at Ryu and Ryu tatsu kicks past it and destroys Guile. JUST cause of that unwise sonic boom.

i know this is sensible + high-level play but what do people think about limiting how many projectiles you can fire in a match in some way or having a meter that goes down each time you use one. cos watching this - it is a bit lame, its not exactly fighting.

@PhoenixRisen7 Interesting concept, how do you suggest players could keep count of the projectiles? How do they get penalized if they've overdone it? I think however throwing projectiles need skills too. Being able to control spacing and building meter is essential in high level matches. You'd feel more positive about the match if you have that in mind. :)

Idk why everyone in here is bitching. First of all, Daigo throws hadoukens like crazy, it is expected for a Guile player to throw if not equal or more sonic booms. It's how the game is played, mind games. If LamerBoi hadn't thrown all those sonic booms he would have gotten owned. Great match LamerBoi, I'm sure all these shit talkers wouldn't do anywhere near as good as you did. Confidence is key, hope to see you at EVO next year.

@rsxzx6r dude there's no point in trying to argue with these people, they'll never understand that hadokens are a zoning tool, not spam, especially in this matchup. It's true though, this is the most balanced fighting game around today; it's like a chess match, it all comes down to reading your opponent's next move. Not everyone can hang in street fighter, that's why games like tekken exist in the first place, so slower players can play fighting games too.
