People who say that Samurai Shodown is bad have to watch Kazunoko's top 8 matches. He gave a minimal demonstration of Hype in SS. Believe me, it's much better if the guy knows how to play the right way.

Chaf Cancel I don’t know if this is the case with SamSho, but games will sometimes do that because it allows them to fluctuate the interval between seconds depending on what is happening in the match. Seconds will be longer in combat and shorter while players are being passive. This encourages a more active playstyle.

@@vandagylon2885 True. I know nothing about Genjuro, but the hanafuda cards worked into his attacks is neat and It's interesting how you only see his back which becomes more prominent with how defined they made his back muscles. He definitely stands out more than other characters.

frankly no, the gameplay and mechanics are interesting and improve your reactions to punish in all fighting games, I also play mk11 and have 2 different games but each with their own style and strengths.

Justin Wong vs RB, Ryan Hart was surprised that TamTam didn't WFT after a successful grab attack but he actually kinda can't. You can Rage explode through it and punish him on the recovery with the Isshin for a million damage. This is one reason that makes me think TamTam isn't as strong as some people think (he's very good, don't get me wrong but he's not at all the best character in the game...Not even close in fact, at least imo). Also, I love this game but when you see top players at EVO top 8 missing input on SSM and special moves because of the buffer, you should consider do something about it. I rarely saw professionnals missing so much stuffs in a tournament before and it's 1oo% not their fault. I think it's important that SNK aknowledge this and tweak the buffer a little bit, especially considering you can take SSM or Isshin punish on a miss inputed DP, for example.

Tam Tam is god tier because he puts forward a barrage of fire, skulls and long range steal so easily accessible and so tough to crack. I thought so too... so many "unforced errors". That [first] Haohmaru Vs SwissArmyknife fight made me wish I was watching an Atlus game... What I see should connect would connect.

@@9206audree Yes, I feel like TamTam is a pure match up type of character. When you fight him for the first time, it feels like the character is completely broken. Then you make a practice session and think about how you can beat his attacks and you're like "Wait a minute..."

@@9206audree Don't worry though, SNK heard you. The patch 1.11 is available since yesterday and Genjuro got nerfed quiet significantly. His far 2B has reduced range now and it's slightly slower and easier to punish, his 5K doesn't overhead anymore (I personally think this is the bigger change, this move was very easily abused). His DP was punishable (especially the medium and strong version) but now the light version is SSM punishable which is huge. His command grab also got nerfed a little bit (less range, more punishable) but it still feel pretty strong and much more on par to what it should be. Finally, the character leaves Rage mode quicker. This is the only change I'm not a super fan of and I hope it's not gonna make him too weak at the end. To understand my concern, Genjuro already had the smallest Rage duration in the game, so now as soon as he has it he pretty much loses it almost immediately which is kinda ridiculous but we will see how it goes on a real match (I only tested on practice just yet). Overall I like those changes, I think the character will still be good (he still has some pretty strong tools, cards that can bounce against the opponent, jump C still has massive range and priority ect) but nowhere near S tiers anymore, that I guarantee you.

Not really as dominant as they used to be. In games that are popular in America and asia, it's about half and half. Dbfz and street fighter have plenty of Americans that have dominated asians. Sonic fox and punk for example. Tekken has had an american born and raised man win evo. But asians dominate that game because way more asians play it than Americans. Samsho is new, but has plenty of Americans that are amazing in it. And games that are popular in anerica but not as much in asia, Americans dominate them, like mortal kombat and soul caliber.

And if they win less than half the games, or even half, that's not really dominant considering asians make up like 90% of the worlds population. You got beat at tekken this year and last year. Punk has won a ton of tournaments. Then you got menaRD, lil Marin, sonicfox, soul caliber, and a million other Americans that have destroyed asians. Tekken is the most Asian game in the world and they havent won a single evo it, lol. But keep believing being asian somehow makes you better at video games. The only reason you all were ever dominant is because of factors other than race. Esports became popular at a much earlier period in asia allowing ppl to make it their full time jobs. The gov. Makes sure all the best asians are always on the same team in team games like overwatch, where as other countries spread their best players out. But now that esports has finally gotten to a point that people in America and other countries can pursue it full time, asians are no longer feared like they used to be. Also, the best fighting gamer of all time with more tournament wins than anyone else without even having a close second is american.
