Important digital cameras this video didn't mention: Canon 5D Mark II (2008): The first DSLR to offer 1080p video recording on a full frame sensor. It made it possible to record HD video with a shallow depth of field, which enabled low-budget independent filmmakers to achieve the "film look" digitally, and its size and relatively low cost made it popular as a special purpose camera on Hollywood productions. Its popularity among videographers led camera manufacturers to make dedicated large sensor, interchangeable lens video cameras such as the AF100 from Panasonic and FS100 from Sony. Panasonic G1 (2008): The first mirrorless interchangeable lens digital camera. Panasonic GH4 (2014): The first mirrorless camera to offer 4K video recording.

True but I don't think you could include all features, I did find it odd when they mentioned WiFi on a camera as a major feature, for professionals it certainly isn't l, neither are high res rear screens. As a pro you know from the view finder if the shot is correct, a quick glance at a preview screen to confirm. Pop memory card out and put into a PC. Can't comment on video but I'd imagine external monitors would be connected. Yes the 5d mk2 with 1080p using the full frame was a major achievement, many people don't realise that video on dslrs and mirror less only used a crop of the frame like mobile phone's and using the entire sensor opens up a huge amount of possibilities

If you want to talk video then the HDVS was the first HD camera in japan in 1984 by Sony. Very important in the history of cameras. It developed into HDCAM by 1997. Used on the Star wars episode1&2&3, and many TV shows like the Office.

There were so many choices and the idea of no longer needing to buy and develop film was just so ground breaking everybody had to have one. Truly a revolutionary time. I bought my first digital camera in 2001, a 1MP Kodak. It's a shame cameras have declined so much because in it's current form, the tiny sensor in phones will never be able to deliver the quality of a large sensor and interchangeable lenses.
@thegreatujo3 жыл бұрын
"the tiny sensor in phones will never be able to deliver the quality of a large sensor" - they already do it, and much better compared to compact cameras. It's because of computational photography. Smartphones have powerful CPU's that make up for the tiny sensor. In ideal lighting conditions the images are even hard to distinguish from those produced by DSLRs.

I was younger, I still have them around but they'd in bad shape, but good images for the time for smart devices, but my parents digital camea from 5 years before the iPod and more mp and it still takes better pictures than my modern phone. I reckon you most be using you're new camera wrong or something because I have a newer digital camera form 6 years later than the iPod and it has 20.1mp (Really 19.91mp) and the iPod had 0.3 front camera and 0.7mp on the back, also how did you get a iPod touch 4th generation when it's Unsupported and Its 2022, but I've used my iPod full time until around really 2019 or 2018 when I got my mum's old smart phone. The I've had 2 other phones since then or really 3. Also now when I look back the iPod camera was so blury and crappy but eh it's better having old pictures than not so. also your digital camera is 18mp, that's 18 million pixels

True and very odd when I see people upgrading cannon d60s with a kit lens to be a d70, when buying a different lens would give you much better image quality. I can use my 10d 6mp camera from 20 years ago with a 150-600 lens and get better photos than anyone could ever hope to get on an iPhone costing 1400 bucks. And I paid around 900 bucks for that lens 10 years ago. On an apsc camera I get the equivalent of around 900mm, about 40x in camera speak. But it's not Really that because they lie, our field of view is around 50 degrees, a smart phones primary lens starts wider around 25mm, so when they say 5 times optical zoom it's around 125mm which is about 2.5 times closer. A 1000mm lens on a full frame is 20x closer and around 30x closer on an apsc. But a compact digital with a 30 Times optical zoom normally reaches to around 720mm because it starts at 25mm or so

@S1D3W1ND3R0153 жыл бұрын
Both those statements are false. I've had timers on my phones since like 2012. Browse a little more in the camera app settings. Also they make phone tripods. If you get a great stand alone camera, sure. Those photos can be better but it's a niche market now. Only content creators, youtubers and professional photographers etc... use stand alone digital cameras. Most people just use their phone camera now. I have a S21 Ultra 5G and I have a 108 MP camera and 8K video capability. Granted I'm not one of the niche market people so why would I spend another 2K on a bulky camera.
