Ma'am, in the subtopic- CRITICISM OF LAMARCKISM, what I say is those scientists tried to bring out an acquired character in the organisms they chose. But, according to Lamarck's first postulate there should be a need for use or disuse of organ(s). Hence, in my opinion, Lamarckism can totally be accepted. However, the session was extraordinary!

mam if it considered that lamarck theory is based on natural selection then why weismann theory is against of it becoz he has done his experiment on his own basis ie cut the tail of rat which is not natural selection then why it is against of it
@anuduggal35226 жыл бұрын
Cjh hg point hai bhai
@seharbhat22736 жыл бұрын
Weismann cut the tail of the rats for twenty generations to see weather the tail appears or not. He observed that in the twenty first generation the tail appeared again. Lamarck's theory is not based on natural selection but on the "acquisition of new characters". Weismann criticised his theory because the experiment he did on rats proved that acquired characters were not inherited whereas lamarck had earlier stated that the characters acquired during the lifetime of an organism (acquired characters) are inheritable.
@muskannargwani57456 жыл бұрын
Ma'am you said that according to lamarck, the organ that is used more grows......so if we use our brain a lot.....will it grow?
@subashxx60465 жыл бұрын
That's just a theory, it was discarded long ago though. Modern theory is the most accepted one!

But Ma'am by listening the Bell's ring, a sensation of hunger arises . This continued upto 20 years in case of a dog u told us in the criticism of Lamarck' theory . So I want ask how can it inherited to its next generation because it is not an acquired trait ?????
@prithvirajsingh26677 жыл бұрын
the trait is not inherited to the next generation it is drawback of lamarkism which lamarck was unable to explain these phenomenon why you are little bit confused it is so easyyyyyyy
@anushkavatsa26806 жыл бұрын
20 year experiment was done with rat not dog and the bell and dog experiment was based on organism,s reflex action it is totally different
@anushkavatsa26806 жыл бұрын

I completely disagree with the critism because in case of tail of rat .tail is important for rat so after he cut the tail rat fell the absence of tail at their life process it is use indirectly so it don't seems to be lost . if there is use of organ then that will not be lost according to lamrkism

The rats tail arguement against lamarckism is stupid because it doesnt factor in any of gregor mendels work. A rat loses its tail, how will that affect genes? Its wrong to try and dismiss lamarckism with this.
