Since no one has given you their names and back story yet, here goes. Back row: These 3 grew up together and have been singing together in community theater and choir since childhood. Kirstin Maldonado (mezzo soprano) The lone female; changes her look fairly frequently, prefers the alto range Scott Hoying (tall blond, baritone) default lead singer, though they don’t have an official one, he starts the song about 90% of the time Mitch Grassi (mullet, tenor/countertenor) most likely to have the highest note in the song, range very similar to Kirstin’s, Crystal clear voice no matter what part of his range he’s using. Also changes his look frequently, often drastically. Most likely not to be recognized in older videos. Front row: Matt Sallee (bass) Newest member of PTX, he joined in 2018 after the original bass, Avi Kaplan, left in 2017. (This has been the only lineup change since the group formed in 2011) Kevin Olusola (beatboxer/tenor) Almost never sings, as he’s beatboxing. If he’s not beatboxing, he will either be silent or add to the harmony. He has vocal solos in a handful of songs, and they are epic. Also plays cello, while beatboxing (aka celloboxing) in a few songs. They have 3 Grammies: Daft Punk (2015), Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (2016) & Jolene Ft Dolly Parton (2017)’. Their most popular video is their cover of Hallelujah. But you can’t really go wrong with any song they’ve done. 🙂

Pentatonix is the real deal. They've won three Grammys so far They have managed to bring a capella mainstream, which isn't an easy accomplishment. I've seen then in concert eight times.now and they sound even better live. Their voices are amazing but I think they are master arrangers, perfectly in the pocket with each other and hold themselves to the highest standard. Theyre on a world tour right now - well the European leg is supposed to be right now but Corona virus postponed it. They've already toured the US, Mexico, Brazil, Japan and Australia since the tour started this fall. In between countries, they came back for their Christmas tour here then back out lol. They also were on tour last summer in the US- stadiums this time. They never stop 🤣

Oh, it is so much fun seeing people experiencing PTX for the first time! You can't go wrong with anything they do, but I recommend their covers of Hallelujah and Bohemian Rhapsody. Both of those are with their original bass, Avi Kaplan...if you think this bass (Matt, who is amazing in his own right) went low, you ain't heard nothing yet!

Great reaction. Yo get the full effect listening to them you should have good headphones. They have been together since 2011 except the base singer joined them in 2017 when the original left the group got personal reasons. If you love Mitch you will love Bohemian Rhapsody. And they sound exact like this live in concert The best boxer,Kevin is also a professional cellist and beatboxes at the same time he plays. He plays cello in a few of their cover songs. Most recently covers of Shallow and Perfect

I love pentatonix, I have been a fan for 6 years now, it’s so nice to see more and more British people like me discover them. Mitch the one with the mullet and beautiful voice is my favourite. The beat boxer is incredible, his name is Kevin he is so multi talented and he can play cello while beatboxing at the same time, he is so smart too, The blonde guy is Scott, the other guy next to the beat boxer the bass is Matt and the girl, her name is Kirstin. They are all incredible people, Mitch the one with the mullet is my top favourite

Oh my god, I love your reaction so much! It was perfect. I love that you gave credit to all of them. Definitely subscribing. Also, as a bookworm, I couldn't stop looking at the library. Amazing :). So anyway, Pentatonix are incredible. I definitely hope you'll check more of them. You really can't go wrong with their stuff, but I'm going to recommend The Sound of Silence. One of my favorite covers they've ever done. Every single one of them is incredibly talented all by themselves. Love your reaction to our beautiful Mitch and his one of a kind voice. Kevin can beat box and play the cello at the same time. You should listen to 'Acapop Kids'. This is a new a cappella group featuring kids 14 years old and younger. They were formed by Scott Hoying, who is the singer in the middle top of this video. He arranges music for PTX and Acapop Kids, along with Ben Bramm.... Eventually, you're going to have to listen to Pentatonix' run through the U.S. show 'The Sing-Off'. They won the 1st season, and the rest, as they say, is history... Acapop Kids: High Hopes, Fix You, Bohemian Rhapsody....

Yep, the beatboxer Kevin is a BEAST. Wanna hurt your brain? If you think him doing all these different beatboxing styles in this single 5(?) min. clip and keeping on beat and in tune is amazing, consider the fact that they tour pretty much non-stop year after year. He's beatboxing almost non-stop for 2+ hours a night. He even beatboxes while the others take a mid-performance break.

It’s best to listen with headphones because you will really get to hear the bass’s low notes!! Sound of Silence, You’re a Mean One Mr Grinch, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Imagine are my absolute FAVORITE ones that they have done!
