I think Crash know how to swim ( underwater levels ) but in reality no one cant swim against to stream or lake. So Crash falling in rivers or pit full of water so he cant swim of those things.

There's another Crash Twinsanity for PS2 drowning animation, it's in River Rollerbrawl/River Boat Area, if you drowned in the water in this level, Crash will do a differnet drowning animation underwater and then his dead body floats. (BTW Awesome video! :D)
