Megadimension VII changed everything for the better because they actually tried with that one. The first three are essentially the same game with a different story and slightly better graphics, and the third party ones always have the highest quality, such as finished dubs, more mechanics, etc. Four Goddesses Online looks like a AAA game in comparison to the rest, has online multiplayer, AI party members who fight alongside you as opposed to you moving all the chess pieces yourself, etc. The level of polish Tamsoft has brought to the series is second to none, not even the original developers can top them.

​@@Queen_of_CatastropheFor a game who love to make fun of NPCs, the original Neptunia actually handled NPCs well making them have their own story and problem than simply quest giver. Neptune is more of a "Go get em'" protagonist than how the series later potrayed her as lazybones. She is the most proactive CPUs where others are negligent so much that the nation suffered. And there is the political drama, its the most RPG like world for me. I think the tragedy is that they needed a reboot of the franchise, yes. But the way they handled it filtered most of the charms that the first game had.

Honestly Megadimension Neptunia VII and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 are my favorites in the series. It definitely took me getting used to the Guard Break System in Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 after the Guard Break System not being present in Megadimension Neptunia VII. (I played Megadimension Neptunia VII first, it's the game that introduced me to the series)

Different developer. Those games and Blanc + Nep vs Zombies were all done in collaboration with Tamsoft. Compile Heart didn't properly try their hand at Neptunia action games until Virtual Stars which isn't even in this video for some reason. 😂

That same thing happens with the crawling animation in Blue Reflection Second Light game. Look up the Blue Reflection Ray Anime. And the Blue Reflection games. There really fun.

The rebirth games are coming to switch later this year. We don't have an exact date but IFI did confirm a switch release of all 3 rebirth games for 2024.
