I freaking adore K. Rool's addition to Smash, his kit and animations really speak to me, more than any other character. With the hype generated by the community for his return to mainstream through Smash, it makes 0 sense to exclude him from future DK entries without getting backlash.

I totally respect Retro Studios for attempting to make new teams of villains for each entry. It breathes life into those games, and is unique. But I'm also on Team Bring Back Kremlings. I think both styles of design can be implemented in this series.

The other name for King K. Rool is Kaptain K. Rool from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest (1995), Baron K. Roolenstein from Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! (1996) and King Krusha K. Rool from Donkey Kong 64 (1999).

I had an idea for a new Donkey Kong Country game with the Kremlings as the main villains again. I call it Donkey Kong Country: Kremling Khaos. It would begin with all the Kongs on DK Island and their Animal Buddies celebrating their annual Banana Festival, when suddenly King K.Rool and his Kremling army arrive on the island with a huge machine called the Banana Magnet, which they use to steal all the bananas on the island for themselves (K.Rool himself hates bananas but does this anyway out his hatred for the Kongs). During the scuffle that ensues, both Squawks and Screech crash into the Banana Magnet, causing its power source, the seven Rainbow Coconuts, to go flying in the ensuing explosion. While the Kremlings manage to keep one, the six other Rainbow Coconuts are scattered to other islands in the sea. Donkey Kong and his friends then set out on a new adventure to collect the Rainbow Coconuts before the Kremlings can and recover all their bananas.

i guess you're not the only one with ideas for a donkey kong country game. the n64 game was original enough whereas the wii U, wii and 3ds games are simply reimaginings of the snes DKC trilogy. this would have been good for a gamecube game if rare hadn't defected to microsoft. along with your proposed donkey kong country game, kameo, perfect dark zero, banjo kazooie: nuts and bolts, conker's bad fur day and killer instinct 4 and 5 and so on would have helped the gamecube. a third killer instinct should have happened on the n64. i posted a comment on my ideal nes donkey kong country/land game and virtual boy donkey kong game yesterday when i watched a compliation of boss fights on the snes DKC trilogy and the donkey kong land GB longplay.

Even though most of the Kremlings can be defeated in one shot. Some of them look pretty strong due to their well developed muscles. They are considered to be weak, but they don't look like it. Maybe the real issue isn't that they are physically weak. But mentally weak. They are physically strong. But they lack courage. As soon as things get hard for them, they give up and run away.

I have so many thoughts Are Kobble and Kaboom the only effectively unchanged Kremlings in DK64? They look and function exactly the same, most other returners have at least a cosmetic difference. Rare DKC2 reps as well. The Smash trophies are so off, notably the Brawl ones, especially K. Rool, but I'm subtly annoyed at referring to Klaptraps as Gators. It's really weird considering how much they interchangeably us primate / monkey / chimp etc that they NEVER say anything other than Crocodile / Kroc, etc. Never Gator Gluch or Alligator Alley or Caiman Creek. Gharial Gulf For some reason they are explicitly not alligators. I'm surprised by how much post-buyout rep the Kremlings really got, but it is just disheartening to see them in random cameos rather than anything proper. Functionally, how are Krook and Kannon distinct? I love the Barrel Blast designs but somehow they are all lacking in personality. Like I can get Kruncha's deal instantly over Kludge, who just seems generic. Potato
