I've always adored Rainbow Road. To me, It was always a big "Thanks for playing!" Track, where they go all out. It's usually the most complex and difficult track, saved right at the end of the other tracks. And It couldn't be any better. It's the perfect way to end any Mario Cart game. The music is upbeat, the stakes are at the highest, and the entire atmosphere oozes joy, and fun. And with the fireworks, again It's like an interactive credits scene, at least to me.

I find the Wii version of Rainbow Road to be the hardest, but also the most fun. I've been playing Mario Kart for around 8 years now, and I've gotten to be really good at it. It's not even the entire track for me, it's the set of turns right after the two holes (before the cannon-star), because around 30% of the time I turn too sharply and fall off, sending me really far back in races or making me lose mushrooms and time in time trials. Also, the best music to me is by far the music in the Wii version, with the Mario Kart 8 SNES Rainbow Road remake in second.

Mario Kart Wii was, and still is, the best Mario Kart game out there. I'm speaking without nostalgia and anyone who contradicts me will be judging their "better" games by using their nostalgia to make it sound so much more better than it really is. Also they totally destroyed Rainbow Road in all post-Wii Mario Kart games. The Rainbow Road from Wii is the most challenging and has the best music.
