I love Metal Slug very much, but have you noticed that we're basically a fascist death squad that uses tanks, guided missiles and flame throwers against dissidents armed mostly with... knives, fireworks and molotov cocktails? In the first and second games only a few enemies had actual rifles and they were bolt-action stuff.

and then, you are going against mummies, zombies, aliens, other world creaturrs, giant mechas, snow beasts, giant mutated see creatures, giant insects, human eater plants, arabs, old era Japanese soldiers...
