One thing I respect is that the MLBB designers are respectful towards their female players. The female characters used to have character designs that have a lot of exposures and highlight their sexy figures. Especially Karina’s design. Her chest literally bounced when we select her on the hero selection page. I saw a guy on the bus spinning Karina multiple times just to see the bouncing animation 🤦🤦 The newer designs have all the female characters in more modest clothing, without compromising on the quality of the designs, which I think it’s great!! MLBB staff understand that they have a large number of female players as well. It’s one of the rare games that are this thoughtful towards females.

Now that this video finally puts what I've been trying to say visually, they've made the details of the current hero potrait more soft, from the contours to even the lighting. Back then it was more detailed, sharp, and raw if that makes sense

Or actually let me put it this way, in the very beginning they were new and just generic almost as if they were a placeholder, then when MLBB got a hold of a bit of identity, like 2017-19, they then made it more detailed, sharp, and raw, but going into the 2020s (with project NEXT), I'm guessing they went softer on everything to make it seem less overwhelming which is why compared to the old is less cooler and yet feel fresh and new, instead of detailed but archaic like World of Warcraft art
