Man time flies. I remember how amazed i was playing RE1 back in 96. Then the directors cut cd also included a RE2 demo. After RE2 IN 97-98. We got RE3. But nothing prepared me for the "next gen" RE game on the sega dreamcast, code Veronica which was frkin beautiful and still my favorite to this day. 2001-2002 The only reason i bought a Gamecube is for RE1 remaster and RE ZERO. 2005 RE4 was released and that was my last RE game before i unofficially retired from gaming because marriage and fatherhood was upon me. Fast forward to today i just bought a ps3 and RE5, RE6, RE REVELATIONS 1 AND 2 at gamestop for about $100. I have alot of catching up to do.

The old RE games are still playable and fun, the dated pre-rendered 3D graphics look disturbing-sickening (not silly), and the clunky tank gameplay/fixed angles adds to the anxiety/uncertainty. The new RE games sure are scarier and feature better gameplay, but the old ones are still classics.

I was one of the lucky ones to witness resident evil 1 and 2 release still got the original PS1 and the original resident evil 1 and 2 in mint condition. Plus Final fantasy VII was the reason I got a PS1. Still think resident evil 4 was up there with the best had it on the GameCube but just bought for PS4 and it looks fresh. Cant wait for the remaster

What I miss about the old games (as compared to the new ones) is the ability to "push" your attacker away. In the latest version of RE 2, if the zombies grab you, then you're bitten. Kinda sucks!
