I really love the distinct difference between Avi and Matt. They really bring two whole different sounds to the group. Avi with a sort of natural, vocal sound. And Matt with almost an EDM sound.

I also think the reason Matt sounds a little more EDM like is because he’s bass boosted. Not because he can’t go low but it’s very hard to project low notes when you age as young as him

Avi had his voice amplified too in live performances. It's rather Matt's agile running notes which give PTX a new flavah. Avi could be compared with a Mercedes Maybach while Matt resembles una Ferrarri

😂🤣 Great to visit your channel again! That was definitely live. They've been performing night after night on tour and they have costumes and REAL choreography (you ought to see Scott and Kirstin dancing together during "Havana"!). And their vocals? Oh my goodness they're PERFECT! It's like Matt breathed new life into them! He's so smiley and dances with or without music.. and he has no drama! He turned 23 a little over a month ago and has that upbeat, can do, will do spirit about him. We are so glad PTX was able to find someone they mesh with and can continue to grow as artists working with! Scott said in an interview right before tour started that Yes, he was scared to death that it was the end of Pentatonix when Avi quit with no warning or a replacement. I love Avi so much! But he had to leave and I thank GOD Ben Bram pressured Matt into auditioning for bass! Did I mention he's very humble? Now, he and Avi are different types of bassists, it's a fact. But Pentatonix is creative enough they found a way to use his differences as a bonus, and said he had a lot of good ideas that they'd never thought of and that they were incorporating them into their new music. Scott said he had ideas that were "funky".. or was it "groovy"? 😂 good old Scott! But, yeah! on tour they look and sound like pop stars, except there's no auto tune or background track. So, I love Matt too!
