We went to Australia for vacation a year ago and we rented a 2009 Toyota Fortuner M/T. The SUV is underrated and performed well, it's the SUV version of Hilux

You're correct. It's better than Hilux for family off-roader while Hilux more for utility vehicle which can tow.

@@Khunthep-Channel But can't tow as much despite same engine torque, as it's suspension & chassis although good at off-roading isn't designed for hardcore towing for its size compared to its pickup counterpart which does good at both. While Fortuner does better on comfort for ppl & on-road abilities than Hilux. Hilux is also always bigger and more durable than Fortuner for all gens respectively, though I would prefer Fortuner as I don't need to tow anything or earn a living by it. Fortuner is more agile, luxurious, & equally as capable off-road.

but because of your tip the teeth in the ratcheting mechanism may wear out slightly faster but still though, yes, you don't need to press the release button in the handbrake to engage because it will likely not engage if pressed while engaging
