Great video! Just bought one of these myself, just thought I'd mention. That cable clip at the back that you screw on, that actually has a semicircular hollow on it that you thread the cable though. Then screw it down tight. So when you slide the saw a section of taught cable slides along with the block, keeping any loose cable out the way. It's a really clever addition!

So glad I found this video. Mine arrived today and I couldn’t get the base to move, didn’t realise it was as simple as loosening the knob. I’m confident with little tools.... jigsaws and the like but really nervous to use this. Just thought I’d let you know your video really helped me out so thanks!

Yes they let me keep the saw. I think it's fantastic for the smaller jobs. Obviously they have the bigger version if you need it for bigger cuts.

is the saw still working good? I'm not happy with the arbor lock? hard to get the blade tightened properly.

Yes it's still working fine. Had it for a few years now and changed a few blades. Never had a problem with the arbor locking tight.

I keep looking at this saw for a diy level mitre saw, almost bought it but jcb have brought out there mitre saw again and it looks a lot nicer than the evolution have you seen it? Any advice? Love the videos.

I will be using it tomorrow to test and film the review. I have a really old JCB 254mm sliding mitre saw that used to be my step-dads. It's a lot bigger and sturdier than the evolution and can't wait to have a go and test it. I have had a few problems with slight movements on the JCB saw and it's hard to adjust and re-align. Like I say though my old JCB is probably 10 years old. You can see it in the background of this video on the table to the back left. The Evolution does seem solid and firm but as it's small it's quite light. Will probably have my full review up of Evolutions for the weekend.
