Remember, Wesley is a traveler. The whole time space and thought thing... with that lens it actually makes perfect sense he creates an entire civilization. But I would have rated this one a 5. This is still a 1st/2nd season type episode. In fact, I always think that The Enemy is in season 2. So I think ironically, and you're gonna hate this, that "the price" is kinda the when it truly becomes season 3, episode 1 and 3-7 still feels season 2ish

Two things about Wesley being a traveler; 1: he isn't a traveler yet. 2: I think that whole storyline is BS and I don't buy it. As for episodes 3-7 being season 2ish, that doesn't make me mad, I just totally and utterly disagree with that. You're talking about "The Survivors" (one of tha best episodes of the show, and far, far superior to anything done in seasons 1 and 2), "Who Watches the Watchers" (again a far superior look into the prime directive than what season 1 or 2 did). "The Bonding" (a character episode where characters are far more dynamic and developed than they ever were in seasons 1 and 2), "Booby Trap" (while not a great episode still feature some good writing that season 1 and 2 lacked), and "The Enemy" (Which doesn't come off as season 1 or 2 ish AT ALL to me). So yeah totally and utterly disagree with you, In fact I think "The Price" is a very weird choice, as if anything that is the most season 2ish episode out of all of them. So yeah as I've been going through Season 2 and then season 3 with a "fine tooth comb" as it were, I notice subtle mistakes and "lesser writing" in the writing styles of the scripts in season 2 which just weren't there in season 3 from the very beginning. All the characters come to life in a way they never did in seasons 1 or 2, and the writing is just tighter. Even in this episode. So no, I'm going to have to say the change was instantaneous, as soon as you get into season 3.
