Evolve is a 4v1 asymmetric multiplayer shooter, released by Turtle Rock Studios back in 2015. One player plays as the monster, a towering brute with incredible strength and abilities. The monster has to survive long enough to eat, and evolve to grow even stronger. Four players play as hunters whose only goal is to track, hunt, and kill the monster before it gets too strong. Being made free to play years after its release and player decline, ‘Evolve Stage 2’ was officially killed off earlier in 2023. Fortunately for us, it’s still playable in its legacy form on Steam!

Now this is a blast from the past. Have to wonder how this ended up happening. Getting away was always my problem with goliath. Always getting my ass eaten it always felt like.

For real! Yeah, Goliath definitely has a lot of mobility, but is tough to use depending on the terrain. I tend to feel like that with any monster haha, I feel like the hunters are always on me!

@@The_ZG I did usually play wraith because of that. There's a trick with wraith I used to use to mind game trackers really hard, even tricked a scrim team really hard with it a few times. If you position just right you can hide inside it's decoy it can putout, they shoot it, just see the decoy flicker, and as they frantically try to find where you went you just slip out behind them as they dodge away from the decoy your inside. I can't remember if the decoy also blocks bullets itself as well but usually got out unscathed with that trick. If it fails it's mild confusion and a perfect opportunity for the ol wraith double tap in sync with the decoy.

Good game, that trapper is dam good. He always placed his traps so well. But you managed to actually do good as a stage 1 monster never losing any health, at least till stage 2 and lost tack of vaal being resurrected. I feel bad for bucket he hoped to stall for time by running and you chased, but left generator unguarded allowing you to target it. Hope you doing great, thanks for the video.

Super good! Got me every time. Yeah, come to think of it, it was a pretty perfect match. Two downs on Val was perfect for Stage 3, otherwise Stage 2 victory could have been possible. Thanks for your comment as always!!

I thought the server were down? Can you play again? and is there a difference between evolve and evolve stage 2?

if im right it was open but no one played the game, but it will be closed at the end of this year forever (im not 100% abaut that)

Dedicated servers are down. Stage 2 is officially dead - but this is legacy evolve. There are some mechanical changes and balancing changes but it is largely similar. The menus look different between legacy and stage 2. You can play legacy evolve (stage 2 is officially unplayable). There’s a tutorial I made linked in the description on how to play evolve, and even private multiplayer matches like this one :)

I though evolve was shut down?? How did you get it working, I tried playing it but it said the server were down??

There's a tutorial linked in the description - there's a way on PC to get all the DLC for free, and enables you to play private multiplayer! The servers are down, but you can still play with peer-to-peer connection!
