A key becoming a lock is such a natural evolution in concept and your design is awesome! I can imagine it being animated, its keys and locks sliding along the ring. Luvstruc and Pitchitchat are also faves from this batch

I actually played with a couple of concepts for this evolution including a design that wa a whole lock and chest. It makes me believe a chest would be the next route for a 3 stage design!

For the question of the day: I would like to see a possible evolution for Durant. The idea relies on sexual dimorphism: male Durant evolve into a steel/flying type (as reference to how male ants grow wings) whilst females evolve into a steel/ground type based on queen ants. They could also have an ability that reduces damage from fire type attacks as a reference to Durant's dex entry.

@@BonnyJohn I imagine for the flying one, they'd probably improve their firepower to act like a cannon, whereas their claws would become stronger to tear the armor of the queen

I love Collatewhirl being based on drunken fist but I would have like it to be also part Fighting type & like that you designed Luvstruc after an archerfish which a reference to Cupid’s bow & arrow

Thanks! Like I say in the video, I decided to go normal because he's not disciplined in drunken boxing, just doing collateral damage by spinning around dangerously lol Also, real world fighters of that martial arts actually dont ingest alchol or go under the influence, they mimic a drunkard to become unpredictable, which I thought was fitting for my take!

I think Mimikyu is a good candidate I've seen designs that turn it into a Raichu. That always seemed backwards to me to have it mimic a less popular pokemon than Pikachu just because it evolves into Raichu. I think it'll be more original if it involves voodoo as a theme.

That might be a fun route because Raichu doesn't get a lot of love! Otherwise, I do think that Mimikyu should ditch the costume and emrbace itself! But its so vague and its part of the charm and mystery that we don't know what it is exactly so I'm not sure what it would look like!

Druddigoyle is so cute! As for a mon I want to get an evolution, I think Carnivine should. I came to appreciate his design a lot more after getting his shiny in PLA and designing a pre-evo for him.

Carnivine could have a number of ways to go for their evo; filling a similar niche as Victreebel but in another way would be interesting to see

These are genius designs! I myself have made a Spinda evo, and am working on a regional Klefki line right now. Also those names, perfect. If there were a Pokémon I feel deserves a new evo the most, it'd be Maractus, though I may be biased as it's one of my two favorite Pokémon that I've already made 3 mon in relation to.

So i don't know if mangoose would actually be the best pokemon for this but i think a fossa pokemon would be a really cool addition to the pokemon universe. My concept for a mangoose/ferret pokemon evo is that they would from a slin long boy into the fossa that islander relatives of these animals that gone trought the process of island gigantism. Zangoose in this case would evolve into a big fossa look alike pokemon now resembling a big cat just like the fossa even tho they're not related to any feline but being a muslid that filmes the niche of the mais predator.

Loved this video, the Luvdisc evolution is my favorite, it stays with the love theme whilst being different to alomomola. I also love the expansion of Druddigon lore as it is an underrated dragon pokemon in my opinion :) As for the question of the day, my pick would be an evolution for Dhelmise, an anchor needs a ship, so its evolution would be the seaweed attaching itself to a shipwreck. It would also double up as a kraken pokemon as the seaweed would act as tentacles that wrap around the ship. The only issue is stat wise, this would be broken as Dhelmise is not to shabby in everything other than speed, but I loved what they did with Archadulon, so it would be a pseudo legendary for Legends A - Z that is a bulky but slow trick room mon. Typing would be the same and might as well keep steel workers, which would be shown by having a bigger anchor controlling the ship body of the Pokemon. Name: Dhelraken Type: Ghost/Grass Ability: Steel Worker Evolution method: Level 60 in a diving spot Description: This Pokemon emerges from the darkest depths of the sea when a Dhelmise absorbs a shipwreck. Its very presence would terrify sailors that would dare to travel across the waves.

Before seeing the evo methods, I'm going to guess what they are (minus the Spinda evo) Druddigoyle: Level up (around the mid to late 40s) Luvstruc: High friendship Locketite: Also high friendship Pitchitchat: Level up while knowing a specific move (my guess for the move is Sing) EDIT: QOTD: I'd like to see Skarmory get an evolution sometime down the road.

Having the typings be in the lower right corner unfortunately has them partially obscured by your logo when watching them in full view on mobile. And I miss the golden shiny of Luvdisc for its evolution’s shiny! Those were the only 2 bits of criticism, the designs were great! 👍

Collatewhirl and Luvstruc are my favorite amongst these designs! I'd like to see an evo of heatmor. They're one of my favorites amongst the more obscure Pokémon. As for a second one... How about pyukumuku? I think they'd be a fun design to play around with!

I think spiritomb should get an evo. Maybe even a branched one. I'd imagine the kinds of evolutions it could take on could depend on how many of the spirits are good or evil, and/or if it absorbs more spirits in the future.

Oh for sure, it could go in so many directions! Maybe an approach like Zygarde cells but with spirits and having multiple forms as it builds itself up into an upgraded version of itself with more souls

i feel like flamigo has a lot of evolution potential because of how much the first stage leaves to be desired! the scarlet dex entry says its neck is tied in a knot to keep energy stored in its belly, so what if the evolved form released that energy or had to go to even further lengths to contain it? maybe it drops one of its types in favor of the psychic typing to focus on controlling this energy. maybe these evolutions are why entire flocks of flamigo can synchronize as if they were trained by a superior! much to think about.

Absolutely! Definitely something they can explore! I more so wanna see a baby Pokemon for Flamigo that might set it up, but that would be a bit boring so an evo would be more interesting for sure

@@BonnyJohn flamigo DEFINITELY feels like an awkward middle stage. a full 3 stage line with a prevo and final form would flesh it out and add sm variety to its appeal! also interesting to think about how the typing would evolve there. if flamigo is flying/fighting, then at least one of those types has to carry from the prevo. is it a fighting type because its a baby who cant fly or a young flying type that hasnt been trained yet? whichever path would influence the type my hypothetical 3rd stage switches out for psychic too!

Considering that Collatewhirl is particularly based on “drunken boxing,” shouldn’t they be Normal/ Fighting Type?

As I say in the video segment, they are not formally disciplined in any training or using any enhancements; thus they have no fighting formality. I thought it would be more funny that as a normal type, being under its own influence of dizziness, paying homage to the real world nature of drunken boxing that those martial artists simply mimicked the movements of drunkards to appear unpredictable, Collatawhirl does collateral damage in what appears to be a thorough expression of a martial art but is completely acting erratically in a silly, comical way.
